Dont worry - we dont get our first team players back until next week and first game is against Leeds, who you just know will be as fit as anyone again right from the off.

Pin waiting to burst our bubble :)

Still my belief that he could be a solid/decent player somewhere. He's just not United (perhaps not even Prem) level. Turkey, why not? Would be an intriguing move for him, if nothing else (especially if they're ready to buy him outright).
Lazio are said to want him back on loan for another season. Don't think we have to worry he'll be at the club by the time September rolls around.

We are confident we will sell and we will loan

    Sell
    Lingard
    James (right offer)
    AP

    Loan
    Dalot
    Jones
    Williams
    Tuazebe
    Mengi
    Pellestri
    Amad

    This correct?

I wouldn't mind James being sold but I doubt he will be (mainly to raise funds towards a DCM, along with others). Ole has taken a shine to him though and with Rashford being out for the first 2mos of the season, it's doubtful he'll let him go, even if we keep Elanga.
He's got the experience El lacks and Ole knows he can count on him, whenever he needs him. A January move, if Elanga establishes himself, shouldn't be entirely ruled out though imo.

On the loan front, Milan want Dalot but appear reluctant to pay the loan fee United want for him. Plus, his status will certainly depend on what happens with Trippier and that might not be decided until late in the window, with United playing the long game hoping that Atleti will crack and lower their price the closer to the end of the summer we get.
Jones on loan would be a good idea but given his record (and salary) who is going to pay for that? Need to come to an agreement on his contract, pay him off and release him.

    nope.

we're not confident about any of the sell players leaving and most of the loan ones.

no one wants to pay market value for Lingard (yet anyway). neither of the Serie A loanees are wanted by their respective loan clubs . don't recall if they had options to buy but money is tight and their priorities are elsewhere - Milan need a good CB and Lazio don't care for Pereira.

i believe Amad stays for depth but the three names above leave. Tuanzebe only stays if Jones is sold imo. it's looking increasingly likely a bunch of players will simply be unregistered in the PL & CL squads

Sitting back and let the situation play out on its own didn't work for Trippier. On to the next step and this matter looks to still be very much on.

I bet Jones stays unless we buy him out. James won't leave, especially with Rashford out until October. Amad I could see staying or going on loan.

Wouldnt be my first choice for a CDM, but for the right money and compared to sticking with what we have …

He would be close to my #1 pick for our CDM. I know others here dont feel the same way, but everything I see from him tells me if he is played as a DLP and stays at home he would be immense. His passing range is excellent. Wolves just ask him to do too much. For a rumored cost of 40 mil for a 24 year old with PL experience and is skill set, sign me up.

According to Team talk, 50 mill Euros will get us Saul. Has this been read been repeated anywhere else? Can he be a 6 in the EPL?

He's been deployed primarily in a b2b role at Atleti but he's reportedly capable of playing in a deeper, more defensive role in midfield because of his tenacity, intelligence and range of passing.
After all Pep was ready to move for him and play him there, before eventually settling on Rodri.

My only concern with Saul is his mental state after his injury. That is partially why he has been struggling at Atletico. He had a bad injury and then mental issues after it. I am not a big believer in changing scenery fixes issues.

Guy says everything I've been thinking and it's absolutely infuriating how the United board work things.

So glad I can do things the right way on FM at least and clear out all that deadwood. lol

I worry about any Athletico CM/DM because they play such a conservative game.

Most impressive windows so far have to be Villa and United. City may add Grealish (likely) and Kane (much less likely) but I don't see this moving the needle for them points wise. They may score more goals, but I don't think this makes them say 8 points better in the league. Granted they don't need to be 8 points better but I'm just saying.

LC have quietly had a productive window as well, but maybe need 2 more signings.

I'm excited to watch Villa, I think losing Jack will suck, but honestly believe they're stronger with the replacements. It may take a season for everyone to gel, but this is how to use that windfall.

Tuanzebe to Villa after he signs a long term agreement here.

He has a big fight on his hands to play at Villa. It's him or Konsa next to Mings unless Smith goes with a back three.

Tuanzebe badly needs a full season without injuries. Hes getting to that make or break point in his United career. If he goes on loan this season, stays healthy, and shows good form he could be in the fold next season as the #3 CB here. If he goes on loan and gets injured again for a majority of the season, I could see us trying to unload him next summer.

I could see Chelsea ending the summer with Kounde and Lukaku. That would be a pretty big leap forward for them. Especially when paired with a full pre-season under Tuchel.

    It would be.

With all Tuchel tactical nous, something does not sit right with me after his Dortmund experience. That could be his down fall again.

I think Tuchel is an excellent coach. The Dortmund situation was just him butting heads with upper management. He failed to realize that Dortmund are a selling club and it didnt matter what players he wanted to keep (Hummels, Miki, Gundogen), they were going to sell if the price was right. And when you have that much turnover, you have to get the reinvestments right every time and they missed on some the 2nd year.

Also, it was rumored that Tuchel and Sahin really butted heads and Sahin pretty much ran the dressing room at the time.

That would be an improvement but not a giant leap imo. Kounde isn't that big an improvement and Lukaku (who is unlikely to move) is an improvement but gives them other issues (personnel/shape/profile) that they'd have to solve.

I'm not saying Chelsea aren't/won't be a problem. I just think clear that Villa are an improved team and that United adding a WC winger of exactly the right profile and a WC CB to replace Lindelof is a big BIG step in the right direction.

I agree Villa have bad some huge moves. If Grealish moves, they could take an even bigger leap forward if they reinvest some.

I think Lukaku is closer to a move than you think. I think he wants to stay at Inter, but they are in financial trouble and I think they'll jump at the chance to sell if its a ~120 mil figure. Inter wanting to sell him combined with losing Conte and I can see him leaving. Also, Chelsea are in dire need of a proper 9. They now have lots of creators in that squad but no 20+ goal scorers. Lukaku would change that.

And if Villa get Tammy from Chelsea as well... Ohhhh boy. That's gonna be fun.
