So, he is destined to be the next great Libero? sounds good. An inch taller than Baresi and an inch shorter than Beckenbauer. If we have a Libero of such potential then maybe we won't need a player like Jorghino? That is to say we can play with more attack minded midfield players?

I haven't read all that much about it, but I don't know if Haaland actually wants to come to Chelsea. I think he had his heart set on Madrid or United.

He grew up in Leeds and was a Leeds fan, all things being equal he probably doesn't look too fondly at Chelsea

Yeah, his Dad played for Leeds, but he left there at 3, so he's not super connected to the place. The Haaland saga is a difficult one. Haaland's father Alfie Haaland and agent Mino Raiola are aware of Chelsea's interest, but Dortmund are apparently adamant that he is not for sale this summer. Next summer, the much reported 75 million quid release clause comes in to play. I mean Haaland is leaving Dortmund that is for sure, it is just a question of when - this summer or next? There are ongoing talks allegedly. Who knows. We wait.

If haaland doesnt agree to a deal this summer, it's highly unlikely he joins us next.

I do hope the suits have a contingency plan that is being worked on and we dont panic buy at the last minute.

Chances of agreeing deal with 1 year loan? Figure that would be a win win situation.

Unless you're Dortmund and Haaland if he doesn't want to come to the club. How does Dortmund replace those stats with Champions League and the prospect of fans in stadiums.

    this is a tough one

Haaland will be off next year. I think what dtrip is saying is what others have also suggested. Deal to buy now, he stays at dortmund for a year plus they get more cash to spend on replacements.

As noted haaland will have any final say and if doesn't want to join us (which seems evident by the lack of interested noises from his camp) it doesn't matter about what the clubs want.

Need to draw a line under this and move on (which I suspect the club has already done and it is only media noise that is keeping this going). I would love to be surprised otherwise.

I think you're dead right there, I think we are one goalscorer away from a genuine title challenge, its so frustrating, thing is Lukaku doesn't want to know (and who can blame him after he was shipped out of here in the first place) and if Halaand doesn't want to know we must move on quickly. The annoying thing is I honestly believe (and I like to think not just because I'm a Chelsea fan) that Chelsea FC and Halaand would be a match made in heaven, a match that would garner lots of trophies. Alternatively we stick with Werner and Tammy and hope that one of them fills their potential.

I'm surprised that the stance seems to be "Haaland or stick with what we have"

Agree with KDB and others that Haaland ain't happening

There are other players out there that could fit if TT doesn't like Tammy (incorrectly imo, but he's the manager and his opinion on Tammy seems clear) and prefers Werner out wide

Isak looks really good for one, but there must be others who would work.

The all or nothing is strange

Totally agree about this tiny target group. The fact we started (apparently) with 3 strikers in our sights and only 3 has made this an odd window. There are a number of strikers out there who would make us a better team.

Just because we won the champions league and seem to have cash to burn doesn't and shouldn't limit us to an elite group. Our most successful striker purchases have been from the second tier (as in not the top 3 in the world).

My lingering hope is that the 3 targets situation is purely media fantasy and the club themselves have cast a wider net that will produce a nice catch. I dont ever believe the media has a full grasp of things, plenty of stuff happens without their knowledge and fans shouldn't take Sun articles as literal truth, but there is often an element of no smoke without fire.

I am not really up to date with world football so what strikers are AVAILABLE that would be a serious upgrade on Tammy. I fail to see the point of taking a risk on someone who would only be a marginal improvement.

Stick with what we have? Havertz as the false nine. Werner. Use CHO and Tammy more? I think the club is going to sell Tammy. I think Tuchel really wants a new striker. We all want it to be EH. But, we don't look like we are going to get him. But there are a few weeks left and every player has a price.

According to the media we have even been linked to Danny Ings. Not sure about that one.

Alternatives. I think we should take a look at the bloke at Inter. No. No not that bloke who used to play for us. The other one that Arsenal are being linked with. Lautro Martinez. I think he is an excellent player, one of those who stands out when you watch his team play. If Inter are willing to sell, I would say Chelsea would be crazy not to at least see if a deal could be done.

Martinez can play as out and out striker OR as a second striker. So IF we got Haaland next season, we could still utilize Martinez. He is known as El Toro or "The Bull" and although he is short at 5ft 9" he is a strong and physical player and he is good in the air. He is quick, dynamic, technically gifted player, good dribbling skills and he scores goals. He started out as a central defender. He is 23 and he'll be 24 at the end of the month.

Former Argentina and Inter and Chelsea striker Hernán Crespo likened Martínez to compatriot Sergio Agüero.

Maybe we should get El Toro even IF we do get Haaland?

Valentino Livramento is set to seal a 5 million quid move to Southampton. He wants to play senior football AND he doesn't feel like that is going to happen at Chelsea. Too many top players ahead of him.

25m buyback inserted, which is what scared Brighton off.

As a young RB and looking at Reece James and Azpi yea he doesn’t have much of a path. Makes sense to move on in search of first team ball elsewhere.

    Matt Law roundup:

Lukaku back at the top of the striker list. Wants to stay but Inter do need to sell more. Dortmund not budging. Chelsea have good relationship with Lukaku agent and Chelsea is the only club he'd leave Inter for at the moment.

If/when Zouma leaves, Kounde will be bid for. Sevilla eyeing Davinson Sanchez as replacement.

Chelsea also listening to offers for Abraham, CHO, RLC, Alonso, Barkley, Zappacosta, Bats, Kenedy, Drinks, Bakayoko, Baba.

Marina has her work cut out. Dortmund not interested in any negotiations. Now Lukaku who stated his intent to stay with Inter is her target?

I just don't see a viable future proof solution here with the (lack of) available options.

TT will end up having Tammy and place his focus on cup games. Timo and Hav will own the PL starts.

Would Levy take a Chelsea offer for Kane seriously if Chelsea offered more money than the other clubs ?

We would be insane to offer what levy would want for kane (and that's without factoring in the 100m chelsea premium).

Levy doesn't want to sell to a PL club letalone Chelsea. The price is 140m. Its up to City to get close to that.

Kane is in a terrible position, leverage-wise. I'm loving it.

Levy might as well put a clause into any new signings that if they were to move on, the player is not allowed to go to another PL club. Would save everyone time.
