I read it wrong, Yea 2014 was the best since 98, I thought he said Herrera coached us in 98, beers and being mad does to you.
We need to move on from dopes like Piojo. Anyone wanting him back at this point is either trolling or an idiot.
Yeah in that we need to wait but things aren't good in that end. People forget that Wales and Costa Rica in the Nations League didn't allow a goal by bunkering. And in the Gold Cup, we looked bad against all the "good teams" post Trinidad. Tata is better than Chepo but he's making the best mistakes and nobody in Mexico have realized that the WC qualifiers are going to be absolutely brutal with 8 teams and 3 games per FIFA dates.
How do you know? Nobody knows what will happen. The only thing people should expect is he's been off for a while and will take time regardless.
Now tell me how no one is asking for him back. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/fuera-tata.2115578/page-2#post-39802880
His player selection and tactics as of late should absolutely be scrutinized and critiqued as long as it’s in good faith. Mexico haven’t really lost any dynamism going forward or in the build up under Tata. He simply hasn’t done much to address these long stretches in games where we completely lose our shape and look extremely vulnerable. It happened vs El Salvador, Canada, and the US. Part of that can be attributed to a lack of quality on defense at the moment but he needs to do better. That coupled with some of his stubbornness in terms of player selection is also concerning. He should mend fences with chicharito if he’s in good form. What I don’t buy is some of the bad faith knee jerk criticism that makes people want Lozano over Tata. The pressure will be on in the qualys but I think the positive experience of these Olympic players and the return of vital pieces like Raul and Chuky will make the difference in the Octagonal. We’ll see. If it’s just more of the same, he’ll be gone.
No need to get mad guy...just move on lol. You spoke before you knew how stupid some peeps are here...it happens.
Meh.. I used to always blame things on the coaches for not getting the “best out of the team”. Nowadays I’m leaning more towards the thought that we just don’t have great players. Can’t always blame things on the managers when things go south (which they apparently have been every time we have a new manager). Mexico needs more talent. Managers, players, you name it. If we’re talking about “emotions” here, a domestic manager is probably better even though they’re tactically worse, simply because Mexicans give a shit about fellow Mexicans and will fire one another up. You think an Argentinian coach really gives a shit about Mexico doing well? Debatable. The paycheck speaks, but at the end of the day if things go south, they can always lean back on the excuse of “I didn’t have a great player pool to choose from” and move onto the next coaching gig. A Mexican manager puts a bit more of his reputation on the line for taking this role IMO, more at stake. but yeah, doesn’t change the fact we don’t have a great player pool.
facts lmao DeLa Rosa, Santiago Ormeño, Victor Guzman, Luca Martinez Dupuy, > Tronco Mori who scored against Nigeria's mediocre local team, Honduras all Covid-Positive & Injury Ridden y Guatemala lackin 90+ fitness Alan Putito otro muertazo
.The Lozano thing is an exaggeration and I don't think he will be fired but stuff like that isn't new. I have been saying he has been complete shit in 2021 ever since his dumb declarations and stuff like he does is more than making me nervous. Overall this is a HUGE step backward especially off the job. It's a la the thing "if you shoot for the king you better not miss". He took the best team out there sans Olympic eligible players to get the tournament after losing the nations league and now fails to win against a USMNT B team. Literally people here and in Mexico were complaining about CONCACAF forcing Mexico to have the A team for the tournament and allow the US to send a B squad and that B squad just won the whole thing. Unless we win in Cincinatti, the have bragging rights. The 2nd thing is that Mexico didn't gain anything from the tournament as they didn't look good against their Octagonal rivals except Honduras and now there will be a whole lot of pressure from fans and everybody. The success in Tokyo might be a problem because in London, we had time off before starting the qualifiers that counted (the hex) and now we start in two months. I get a lot of Chepo vibes because of the results but more importantly because some of the mistakes. The big mistakes from Chepo were his tactical rigidity, he's incredibly arrogant attitude about Mexico being king shit in CONCACAF and having to play like Mexico all the time rivals be damned which turned to "I don't know jackshit about our rival and will play so predictable I will be outcoached each game". He needs to get off his ass and work. Like I said after the Canada game, JCO overthough thing but he was prepared each match and knew the rival and I don't think Martino does that. He also has to get his shit together in the locker room and cut off people who are damaging the team more than adding. I have some bad Deja vu too on stuff like that. I was in Azteca for what Martin del Palacio called the moment where everything went to shit for Mexico in the Chepo era, the loss in Azteca against the US. I remember some dude here that NEVER posted again after he was very busy and said that "Mexico would beat this US B team 99 out of 100 games". I still think that the Guyana Azteca game was a better preview of the disaster and officially it was the Jamaica Azteca game (which is also our first World Cup qualifier this time) that was the true start of the calamity but I'm not liking this result at all. I was very against people saying "this is like the Chepo era" but I'm not going to be that critical after tonight.
It’s fair to be restless after a failure like tonight and the issues they had all tournament. I do agree that Tata does seem to underestimate our regional rivals since you don’t really see any adjustments. If he continues business as usual he’ll lose his job during qualifiers. One thing we do differ on (and I’m honestly just nitpicking here since it’s not too relevant) is the notion that Osorio was prepared each match. I know the Chile debacle is an easy target but that really was a perfect example of his incompetence. Mexico played Chile in a friendly before the copa and were utterly outclassed. Despite being played out of the park we lucked out and somehow won that game 1-0. He didn’t learn a single thing from that friendly.
Y que hace la liga mexicana para producir más talento nacional? Nada... Juegan como tres mexicanos por equipo de titulares jaja.
This looked like a carbon copy of the 1990’s early 2000’s games. Anyways Mexico played well and couldn’t finish. US played good for about 20-25 minutes in the 2nd half. The extra time was a wash...they capitalized on a mistake. The subs didn’t really had any offense so a big fail all tournament long there. Facaso yes but I’m not worried.
