We have some disagreements from my pool to yours but overall great work, I do encourage any others to attempt this exercise
Adrian Gill is as legit as it gets. He’s not just in La Masia and an average player at that level like Ben Lederman but is excelling and often a stand out in his game. Adrian is in the right club for his development because athletically I don’t think he’s going to be anything significant so he needs an environment that will bring out the best tactical and technical abilities of his game. I think Adrian is among the top 06 midfield prospects but in such a deep cycle we’ll only know when the first camp happens which will hopefully be before the Nike Friendlies. He has guys like Bento Estrela, Aaron Heard, Jude Wellings, Cruz Medina, Ryan Reid, Micah Burton and more competing with him for a spot. The midfield talent for this group is exceptional Diego on the other hand is a toss up. This cycle appears early on to be very loaded with goalkeepers so even if Diego is quality, he’ll still have to come in and earn his place.
i'v I've seen Adrian first hand, he's legit. Son played against him and played with and against Cruz and against Wellings. Between those two I would rate Adrian higher. Cruz and Wellings a little more attack minded, Adrian plays faster....but function of training and club. Cruz might be more technical than both but ball tends to stick with him. Adrian decision making is so much higher... but plays in more challenging environments.
college remains a viable option for overlooked parts of the country / late developers. nothing about last night changes the fact that thats a small percentage of our pool. also lets be real - if eryk were a dc united academy guy right now he would be closer to starting than going to college. there has been a sea change in the past 3 or 4 years.
Really changed in 2017 when Andrew Carleton got minutes USL during the u17 YNT cycle. After that happened more u17’s started getting USL minutes and that started to lead into getting MLS minutes. Once Bradenton closed in 2017 and the elite talent was at the clubs full time things really took off and there’s been a direct spike in USL/MLS minutes and homegrown signings
Really not sure what this is asking or why I, specifically, was tagged. Feel free to let me know or, if you prefer, my answer is a firm "It depends."
Sorry I’m definitely not good at quoting or posting links. this was your reply: This was mostly just a fun joke that I horribly screwed up with bad posting.
There will indeed be news on youth national team programming coming soon.— U.S. Soccer Comms (@ussoccer_comms) August 24, 2021 u17 camp is rumored for November which is the typical first camp for a new u17 cycle following the October u17 World Cup
I’d drop Michael Luande from that now and potentially Axel Perez as well (still talented but younger than the cycle). The rest I still feel safe in calling locks
Kelvin is good…very good. Because the cycle is weak at RCB he has an argument. But he isn’t the best CB in the 2006 age group at NYC which belongs to Alex Hauschild. I’m not sure that he is YNT level
I rate Hauschild Extremely High, But Da Costa physical ability’s such as Pace and Strength is unlike any other cb in the class, I would advise you to watch another NYCFC u15 game of his

Great news. Delgado has previously been in Mexican YNT camps. This’ll be another battle between the two countries, if he becomes good enough. His game actually reminds me a lot of David Ochoa. Wellings is one of the top players in the age group IMO. Henry probably wouldn’t have been a pick of mine to be included, but he’s not a bad prospect either. Notably left off is Abokye Bikyeombe (‘06) and Axel Kei (‘07) from RSL, although this might only be a camp for 06’s.
OK, should I bother tracking U17 callups or are like 30 of you doing it (and publicly sharing the document) already? I did it last cycle to see if the general size of the pool would grow or shrink post-Bradenton; it grew, pretty much as expected; I don't know how much more I care. I'm happy to give someone access to my document if they like. (One of you already has it. I'm a bit ashamed to say I don't remember who it is because I forgot which screen name goes with the real name...)
Blake Kelly ('06) is a name I forgot. RSL always has two good GK's in an age group, so I don't know why I forgot him. I don't think Delgado and Kelly would've both been called into the same YNT camp, considering its not like these two are the caliber of Brady/Slonina. These are more fringe guys. I think Delgado probably has more potential and Kelly is a little more pro ready. Tough decision, but Delgado is likely the better prospect. With it being close though, does it make more sense to call in the guy who already has shown a propensity to accept call ups for Mexico? I think the question has to start being asked in these situations, including for guys who haven't yet been called in. When we are talking about guys on the fringes of our YNT's, is it a good idea to have players who are real threats to play for Mexico, if they become good? We can be pretty sure that almost all of the non Mexican-Americans will play for us.
There are three 07’s who are in the camp. Axel Kei being left off is correct in my opinion. He’s probably one of the top options right now but is it because he’s an early developer? Very possible. With Axel we need to see how he performs 2-3 years from now when players catch up physically
Can someone warn me first please. I typed Kelvin DaCosta into google to see if there was any highlight or game footage of him playing to see for myself...clicked on the first video without paying much attention and found out a Kelvin DaCosta has a large piece of his anatomy and has a porn video. Thanks guys, you got me good.
