He was brutally average at the Euro. Arrived and left injured like we're used to as well. Dude even did the whole army vet "I don't know how long this body can hold up" routine to boot. Yawn.

Sterling has been outperforming this guy for like 4 to 5 years, and also showed up at the Euro. Just doesn't have a following of weirdos to fluff him for the most basic things.
Probably could've had that guy for about the same price.

Hazard needs to be one of the best players in the league, that was the reason we made this investment. Right now he's in Coutinho range of total catastrophe. Another season like that and we're probably sending him on loan.

This doesn't change the fact that all those (including you) who habitually mock him for being a fatass player predicted him to be completely out of shape yet again and he proved yall wrong.

Right so you're just trolling. Cool.

If we're at the point where we praise our most expensive transfer in club history and one of the highest paid players on the roster, who's been a non-factor for two years for simply turning up to pre-season not out of shape, then our standards as a club have gone to shit.

    Don't grasp at straws.
    He has disappointed us all
It's also not known whether he'll perform well this season.
This doesn't give you all permission to talk smack about someone body shaming him in due process.
Especially not when the entire squad is in awe for how he has maintained his physique once he returned to the training(as mentioned in that report)
So wise thing here, is to accept you fcuked up and guessed some things about someone you had no data about, and then move on.

Easily the most hilarious response I've seen in a while. You're over here waxing poetic about a player that not only had no respect for the club by showing up the way he did but none for his body as well by how he's managed it during his career. The transfer is a failure until the player proves otherwise. He doesn't get the benefit of the doubt anymore and people are free to criticize the player from now until he proves that he deserves any other response. Either he starts to perform on the field or he can go somewhere else. And if you're so bothered by the treatment the player receives, you can join him on his way out IF he continues to spend more time on the treatment table than the field.

As long as he doesn't play up he's always going to be our fatass.
Also if he isn't out of shape why isn't he in team training yet?

Are we handing out medals for showing up?

The tweet said players were surprised at how thin he is, not at his level of fitness.

He's not training with the team so there's really no indication that he is in fact - "fit."

Next he will be compared with teen age female gymnasts for having the courage to refuse to play the last couple of seasons because he was afraid he would become injured if he played in an actual game rather than dancing around in a cute training video. A true hero.

It's pointless to argue with his apologists.

I bet they'd want to give him a 4th season even if he flops for the 3rd consecutive season, by saying shit like "lets HOPE he stays fit and turns it around", "he better show up this year" or "Hey, we just signed Mbappe/Haaland (or some other big player), I'm willing to see how he links up with them, I'm sure he still has quality, he just needed the right players around him" or if Carlo gets the sack by the end of the season, "Maybe Hazard can play well under our new coach, I'm willing to give him another chance".

I'm also 100% that Hazard will give another few interviews for the 3rd season in a row like how he's motivated and fit, etc and wants to redeem himself, to load some more 'Hopium' into his fans' ears. But in reality it's our club who wouldn't be able to sell or offload him because he wouldn't want to let go of his sweet wages at the end of the day.

Although that's what has been happening for the last 2 years, I'm sure it'll happen next year, and the year after that. Mark my words, this deadweight will finish his career in Madrid. And this vicious cycle WILL continue till the time he's here.

Well i think it's the least he could do, not turn up overweight again, no prizes there, his teammates being "surprised" is pretty surprising and damning at the same time if you look at the full picture to be honest, fans talking, messaging, is one thing, having your teammates surprised because you are thin (fit?), as a footballer, is a whole other thing altogether, but again, now get on the pitch and perform, we need goals

I agree; the tabloids being tabloids, questions about whether he is fit or fat or both, posters talking sht about him etc. All of this doesn't matter, what matters are his performances and contribution on the field. I've seen him at Chelsea and I know what kinda player he can be and I'd like him to reach that level again here at Madrid this season. If he can't, he should go.

Well, he admitted it himself that he's never going to be the player he once was at Chelsea, so hoping that is just futile. He told us to "judge him on his second season", now that the second season is over and that he had 0 impact in it, he should go. We just can't afford to give this guy chance after chance, wasting around 20m in wages year after year, 'hoping' he'd suddenly turn up like some superhero in the next season, especially when he hasn't shown an ounce of promise wearing this shirt. We've already wasted 130m on him in transfer fees and around 40m in total 2 years worth of wages, this ain't some lottery that you'll put 20m+ in the slot machine time and time again thinking you're gonna hit the jackpot. Instead, his condition is only gonna get worse and worse as time progresses, keeping his injury record and age in mind. The best we can do right now is write him off as a bad debt and offload him somehow.

By now I'm convinced somebody is filming a Mike Bassett style mockumentary that's centered around him.

❗️| Hazard and Carlo Ancelotti’s goal is to restore the best version of the player and show that he is one of the best in the world. It is now or never for Hazard.

All noise and the point is still the same, perform on the pitch and no one will talk.

Courtois was shitting the bed earlier in his career and people here were screaming for Navas. He changed his fortunes and showed up, people stopped mentioning Navas. Hazard needs to do the same and no one will talk.

The team is showing pitty at this point/trying to make him feel like he's a contributing member. For all his missteps, i don't think Hazard is stupid, all the things we're saying here, he already knows firsthand.
