we meet again s. korea... i remember them talking a lot of smack about us on their forum in 2012. I don't remember reading it when they beat us in rio tho lol. that was japan in 2014 but yeah, they got clapped
I give credit where credit is due regardless of what club our players play for or where they played Lainez has been a stud and Memo is a solid keeper as always. See? That wasn't difficult Martín has been useless with the NT on all levels. He finally had a good game today so I will recognize that. Doesn’t take away the fact that he has usually been shit with the NT. Funes Mori has been a God send after Martin’s recent performances. The fact he is one of our overage backups this tournament is a total joke
Mexico has the worst luck in missing golden rivals. South Korea in 2010, Switzerland in 2018 and now the biggest one of all in New Zealand.
He had a good game against France. France might have been shit but he did his job of winning balls for the other players. But people hate him and Aguirre scored (which was a good goal but it as a terrible backpass from the French defender who touched his first ball after coming in) so he was shit to the react first ask questions later Mexico fans.
Mexico versus Korea is going to be a hell of a game. If Mexico knows their worth and play with the style that got them here, then we should win. Know your worth and go get the win!!!!
This is just a bad and lazy take. Lainez and Ochoa have been great. Martin was decent/good today but lettuce be real...he should not be near any NT.
I'm not saying that Mexico is better than Japan because more goals or whatever, I'm saying that France's defense had absolutely no cohesion and let everything through, which is evident when you realize how little prep time that team got with their final roster. I'm saying that this version of France should not be indicative of anything, and the only reason they are not bottom of the group is, unironically, Gignac.
S. Korea may be our recent boogey man but Mexico has the talent and skill to win. Let’s not forget NK lost their opener to NZ. If Lozano gets the team right I have confidence in our play even with Martin on the field.
#Olympic | Oh, btw, our rival for the quarterfinal is set. 🔜🇰🇷 Are you ready for Saturday, Incondicionales?? 🇲🇽💚👀#Tokyo2020 | #FMFporNuestroFútbol pic.twitter.com/70PaYlMCEI— Mexican National Team (@miseleccionmxEN) July 28, 2021
You’d think we had lost. The negativity in this bitch is unreal. Club rivalry blinders/biases, knee jerk reactions, and negative spins on everything. It’s weird. I like Titi and Antuna, two dudes that get shit on the most. In hindsight maybe Lainez should have sat the second game. These dudes aren’t machines.
Antuna did a good job as he got space against South Africa but I don't know if he would have done so against Japan. Lainez is a better player and I don't know if he would have done bad against South Africa but Lozano did a good job this time. That being said, I still think he's to rigid and Cordova today once again did a poor job so it wasn't all great from Lozano.
the is the f8cking problem with us, we are a shitshow of fans. We lose, heaven is falling, worst team ever, F the federation, F the players, fire X coach, etc etc. We win and it's the same exact shit. Or we say why not send young players or alternate squad to shitty Gold Cup, but then we lose and it's everyone giving them shit. Quien nos entiende, puro pinch mamones
I will agree that it is absurd to consider we qualified to the next round beating two teams by +3 goals and people are still so extremely critical. It’s really rare to have such dominant performances if half the team is a waste as some would like to believe, something worth considering when micro-analyzing every movement from a single player The only team that scored more than us was South Korea and they got 6 of their 9 from Honduras!
