that gaff looked pretty bad, a combination of slipping, not really wanting to go after the ball, and losing the ball in the lights, but hey, it could have been worse
Good chance for Exeter just before the half as a dangerous cross came in but no one could connect. HT 0-1 ManU
Exeter really getting more confident on the ball towards the end. (they also had a good corner a few minutes earlier) That Flack guy is probably the slowest player I've ever seen, and he is really downright terrible on the ball. Devine has looked quite good for Exeter, as has the keeper, Jones. For ManU, O'Shea has been excellent, Phil Neville awful (surprise, surprise ..), Ronaldo quite active, and Giggs with awful final touches.
What happened to Spector? I thought his loan to Blackburn was final yet I didn't see him even on their bench. Now, I'm seeing his named called out for ManU for today's game. Is he still with ManU?
first ? sounds like you expecting more I just don't know what is wrong with Timmy, i am very disapointed and sad
sill commentator saying "timmy looking far from comfortable" after he came out and caught a cross - i thought he looked great and did exactly what he was supposed to do
Devine (I think) stumbles on a tackle, but keeps composure. Crosses the ball in, Howard jumps and grabs it, landing on two Exeter players. Still looks a little uncertain.
Min 54- Grabs a good cross into the 6yrd box but still looks far from comfortable. Sorry to suggest that Timmay would make a series of mistakes. It is sad what's become of him and judging by his performance so far, he is not close to replacing Carroll.
Great opporunity for Exeter! Cross goes to a forward all alone, but hits it just wide of the post (where Howard was). ManU still dominating play, but Exter getting chances here and there, perhaps moreso than the first half. (63rd min)
This is a really unfortunate part of the problem. With some reason, Tim has developed a reputation as a shaky goalkeeper. Now that reputation domninates how he is perceived on the pitch--his every gaffe will be seen as evidence of that tendency, and good, solid plays will tend to be ignored or downplayed as exceptions. Of course, this is to some extent within his control. Even though he's got the weight of opinion going against him, he can still turn the tide of that opinion with a few mistake-free outings featuring some good saves. But even the slightest misstep--especially against Exeter--tends to have the opposite effect and cement his bad rep. Can't believe it was less than a year ago that he was a fixture between the pipes and was voted the Prem's top keeper. How things change.
No arguement, player was offsides. Nothing to say about Howard... the Exeter player was right in front of Tim to flick it by him.
