I heard about this yesterday . They are trying it at U17 level I think . - 30 min halves - trying to solve teams wasting time . But I’d hate to have the game end when the clock hits 30. Refs still can let a few secs go past if there is a dangerous play going on . - unlimited subs - could be ok . As long as it can be done quick. Plus I heard they are trying an option for players subbing back in . Problem here is teams going ultra defensive setup to protect a lead . - Throw ins with foot - Don’t want everything turning into a corner. So no on this one . - yellow card - definite no on this one . Too much subjectivity . Unless it’s a clear tactical foul to stop a breakaway . But 5 mins a man up isn’t really that much anyways . Surprised they aren’t doing Wengers offsides idea .
But why? not content with ruining everything else, the consultants are here to ruin the GOAT sport Oh btw the 30 mins w clock stoppages thing is clearly about sliding in commercials
How did you come to that conclusion? If anything i like it, but keep the match 90 minutes. Let's see how many players take an eternity to leave the field if they know they're only making their workday longer by it.-
I wasn’t pro ESL either but just laughed at the save football bs from UEFA and the fans also esl wasn’t charging the game itself
Fecking roight mate, fitbool is abaaht gettin 4 pints in yaa and smashing a caaahnt after, you don't get the baaaantaaah, the daaaahbies.
easiest way to make the game more interesting would be to make offsides rule start at penalty box to run to the end line.
The thing with stoppages and 30 minute halves is a great idea. In a 90 minute match usually there's 45 minutes of actual football in plenty of matches and many times even less than that. So if some pieces of shit want to roll around all game like they usually do against us then go ahead, times not moving. You guys just recently watched that Argentina-Brazil, I swear there was a maximum of 30 minutes played the entire match.
Or just give the benefit of the doubt and resolve any remotely close call in favor of the attacking player like we did for years until VAR decided that if you maybe have a part of your shirtsleeve offside a goal should be disallowed.
Barca new away kit is sponsored by Parma Violets. I’ll say one thing, Nike have been consistently churning out shite kits for clubs this season.
Has anyone estimated/calculated how long a game actually is on average if they stop the clock all the time? It could very well be 60 minutes.
It's sometimes even less than that. "Denn wie eine Studie des Europäischen Fußball Observatoriums (CIES) aufzeigt, beträgt die Nettospielzeit fast auf dem gesamten Kontinent weniger als eine Stunde, statt der vorgesehenen 90 Minuten." CIES did a study taking the average net playing time of football in Europe and it amounts to less than an hour on average.
Having a clock run only when the ball is in play is a no brainer. It’s one of the easiest improvements you can make to the sport. There’s no reason a referee needs to be controlling that, and all the rolling around would be halved. I’d keep it at 45 mins though.
I don't know, I think if clock stops for stoppages, then stoppages will take longer. Ref won't rush you to get the game going fast, when the clock is stopped it can be stopped for as long as you want really.
Most of these ideas have been tried at U17 world cup before and were binned 30mins half, They tried 40mins half at 1985 U17 and binned it Trow-in as Kick-in, They tried this in Japan 1993 U17 and binned it Unlimited sub, That is not a good idea. It would disrupt the flow of a 30mins game so much
Dudes falling down and suffering and as soon as the ball is turned over they jump up and run after it. It would also help clearing up who's really hurt and who isn't.
That unlimited substitutions will be abused like crazy, teams will score one goal and be making subs every other minute the rest of the game just to disrupt the flow and prevent opponents from getting into any kind of rhythm. Who doesn't think we would have seen 88 minutes of this from Southgate who was making PK subs in the 119th minute trying to be clever.
