Yes, but in MLS Dike's xG should be two goals per 45 minutes.

I remember seeing a US -Cuba match at RFK some years ago (2009 WCQ, I think?) and I don’t think I ever felt sorrier for a team. As usual, Cuba had a number of defections prior to the game. Cuba had 7 defections before the match where Wes and the US pasted Cuba. But, back in 2009(?) what stuck out was the US running around in every kind of Nike boot imaginable while every Cuba player sported old school Copa Mundials. You could see they had some athletes but they just looked like they were going through the motions in a joyless way.

Why, it's obvious! He has played 4 MLS games - 4 games I tell you!!! - for a total of 250 minutes and scored two goals. With that amount of minutes, he should have scored at least 20!!!

He's obviously washed up. Bring back Jozy.

    The usual Chicken Little melodramatics.

The lad has scored 2 goals in 250 minutes over 4 games, which translates to a goal every 125 minutes or a goal every 1.4 games. He missed the last league game, since he made the final cut for the Gold Cup.

There is no planet where that translates to poor form.

He didn't look particulary good. Two goals are nice, but not something you can determine the form. Would be happy to be wrong.

So he's the opposite of Sargent, doesn't play well but scores goals.

It's nice to have both options in a center forward :D

They actually had the same number of goals this season. Ok ok, that's not fair, Hoppe didn't score an own goal as a forward.

The only difference is Hoppe played literally on the worst team in Europe over a 40 year time period, he is 2 years younger went through 5 Coaches AND played... 1/3 the minutes as Sargent, so yeah same as Sargent :)

Btw, don't get me started ;)

The magical extra few days of training made him an awesome LW. Starting Lewis instead of him made it happen. Greg's a mad genius.

Martinique is a real minnow. Would really love to see Dike and Hoppe start and get a brace each for confidence and chemistry.

It works the other way too. If they start against such a minnow and fail to score, that could be bad for their morale.

There must be some giant defenders in the Bundesliga. I didn't realize Hoppe was 6'2". Thought he was like 5'11" or 6'0"

Is the Man Utd scout there for Dike or Hoppe, or both?

Yup, I feel the same. I guess it makes sense a guy that plays on teams that get 35% possession will ball out way more when he is on a team that gets 75% of possession. The back heels and flicks are a nice touch though.
