if you bothered to read about vaccinations, you'd know that they don't have enough supply.

Thats from the BC ministry of health. They provided a copy to the Vancouver Sun.

I have no clue what kind of data the Ontario MOH are sharing?

On a related note, I like all the shit that Pfizer is getting for announcing they were going to request an FDA approval for a booster before the many of the rest of the world got their first shot.

Mentioned it before but what really grates me is that we're sitting on all this large supply that many simply refuse to take because 'reasons' when there are so many countries around the world in very short supply of their own and desperate to get anything.
That report claimed that just 11% of the population have gotten vaccinated with the first dose. It's appalling.

Today we are all going to learn a new word: "endogeneity."

Australia chose a strategy of harsh suppression measures early on in the pandemic. However, despite domestic manufacturing capacity (which makes it different from places like Canada where domestic manufacturing wasn't ready) for vaccines, Australia's government has made policy choices that made the country unprepared to mass-vaccinate AND reliant on the global supply. Further, the government has been slow to approve vaccines, and has restricted use of AstraZeneca to certain groups, further limiting its ability to handle outbreaks with vaccination. Here are some links explaining:

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-56825920

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-57549796

    https://www.pm.gov.au/media/new-deal-secures-potential-covid-19-vaccine-every-australian

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-11...stralia-welcome-but-questions-remain/12851750

In other words, Australia has low vax rates not just due to global supply but due to policy errors which are now being debated and re-examined.

While SamScouse undoubtedly meant his post to be a poorly-thought out and even more poorly-executed insult, the cool thing is now everyone can understand the nuanced reasons why Australia is in its current predicament.

    Thanks buddy!

Australia is run by Scotty from Marketing who is only slightly less moronic than Trump and Boris

He has made huge mistakes right through the pandemic.

Yeah, the numbers for the African continent aren't remotely believable. Or its quite the coincidence that the richer African countries / the countries with the capacity to track COVID cases are always the countries with the highest case counts.

Everyone's an expert nowadays. Can only imagine how frustrating it must be for doctors, scientists whose word is questioned by people who don't have the first clue, simply because it's not their field..
As the saying goes, 'doing your own research' means nothing if it contradicts what the experts have to say.

The Australians don't have enough supply because they didn't prioritize vaccines, not because they are at the back of some global queue. You should bother to read up on the actual reasons in the future.

That is an affirmative - but the vaccinated folks were either mild symptoms to a bad flu symptoms, but not hospitalized and recovering.

None of the unvaxxed folks have either survived or are recovering - lingering in the severe covid symptoms or hospitalized

Yeah....my plan to head East next Mo for my Bro's XCIV'th B'day is up in the air. I always stay at my Son's place in Ma but he has a 9 yr old unvaccinated daughter so that may be a problem. :(

Ps...I was really looking forward to some N East bonafide pizza.

    Precisely.

If you were in charge of things, hardly anyone would die from AIDS, for example. Being able to understand causes is critical to being able to solve problems.

Well, I guess we'll figure out which players on the American teams aren't vaccinated... I'd also be curious if this is the reason why the Whitecaps are the only one not playing in Canada.. BC Place put out an article saying they were ready to host Whitecaps games...

You know, I try to be a good person. I try to live up to being kind and empathetic and understanding.

But when I see something like this, all that runs through my mind is, "you made this choice, you have to live the consequences."

I somewhat hate that I'm becoming the "Let Em Crash" guy from Airplane.
