As a person that works from home more days than I go into the office, I can only imagine the excitement of being forced to work in 85 degree temp, when, I'm assuming, I'd be used to mid to low 70s if I had AC. Amazing.

Interesting new anti abortion state law that is about to be passed in TX, where any American citizen may soon be able to sue clinics, doctors and anyone helping a woman get an abortion.
This is madness: United States of Gilliad incoming at this rate. Freaking Texas....

The AC in Texas is usually set at 65 degrees, from my memory.

In China, the Party encourages citizens to report "unpatriotic behavior" that they witness. Not all that different.

44 is somewhere laughing wryly to himself... "Simply by existing and being POTUS, I triggered these Clampetts so much that they're willing to breed uncontrollably and set their own young folks' lives back decades..."

Just not the Supreme Court of the United States. Isn't there some sort of OAS court we could appeal to sort of like the ECJ?

Let’s see, no good going to the Taliban or the Iraqi Mullah’s. They just side with Texas.

Democrats in the Texas Legislature were planning Monday to leave the state in a second revolt against a GOP overhaul of election laws, creating another dramatic showdown over voting rights in America.

    "cabined"?!?

I am thoroughly opposed to Democrats leaving the state but saying this sort of nonsense is just stupid.

I hit the link because I knew that didn't sound right.

The change is they don't have to teach about the Klan, period. It is NOT that they can't teach that the Klan was morally wrong.

It's the same thing, tbh. We both know that if the requirement to teach it is dropped, it won't be taught at all.. The bill also eliminates virtually all mentions of POC and women from the state's required curriculum. The end result will be lessons that focus almost entirely upon White males because that's what the standardized testing will be focused on.

Not teaching about the Klan is tantamount to denying its existence, therefore that is 'morally wrong'. Can't pick and choose the parts of history you want to teach people about: does not work this way.
That's like teaching about WWII but excluding Nazism. It not only does not make any sense but in a very real way it's trying to make it acceptable (almost legitimate)...

Or teaching the Civil War without mentioning slavery as the primary driver behind it..

    “But state rights!!”
“Sure. The state right to legalize slavery.”
