I think you could make an argument for violent conduct. He could’ve easily hurt Saka there

Don’t you think England should try really really hard to avoid PK’s?? ;)

This is managerial malpractice by Southgate and England might still win.

Absolutely. Apart from the Saka sub which settled the right side down, Southgate has gotten this wrong since the first half

Yep - he levelled the playing field vs a weaker team

Feel for Sancho, Rashford, and Saka. Hope England embraces them instead of . . . what I suspect will happen.

Southgate single-handedly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory

Ok I understand the logic of bringing on guys who are more confident in penalties. BUT isn't there something to be said about guys who are cold vs guys who've been out there in a full lather. They're in the moment, it's their game.

Their manager put them in the worst possible position, that should be the focus. You expect two guys who haven’t kicked a ball in two hours to come in and do that cold?

England have way more talent, and did this:

Four shots in normal time, all taken by defenders.

Didn't occur to me what you meant, but you're right. Hope the club calls out the racism.

Why do you put a 19 year old kid as the 5th taker when you have Grealish, Shaw and Sterling in waiting?

After Messi carried some sad sack Argentine teams of the past, wasn't it about time someone else picked up the slack?

May not be the time - but, damn, is England poised to continue this upward swing.

If you're going to bring Rashford and Sancho, why wait until 1 minute until end? Why not at the beginning of the second period of extra time just to get their feet wet.

I don't wish Penalties at the end of a tournament match on anyone but why put an outfield player on where he barely touches the ball?

Well yeah, this is progress for them after years of underachieving.

If they want to look at a model for taking it up a notch, look at France 3 years ago: Lost at the final in ET at home, win the WC two years later.

Don’t usually like England but I like this squad. Just wait until ESR get in the team
