HOUSTON (AP) — Investigators were trying to determine Friday what prompted a man to open fire at a married couple, killing one of them and wounding the other, before fatally shooting himself inside a popular Houston seafood restaurant.

The couple was finishing dinner in the bar of the Downtown Aquarium Restaurant shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday when the man approached them, pulled out a gun and “immediately started firing rounds” at them, Houston police Executive Assistant Chief Matt Slinkard said.

Hmmm. The trouble with that theory is that I don't see a guy who is bonking another man's wife losing it completely when she calls it off. I figure he just finds another (if he hasn't already). Now a woman who gets jilted like that might be murderously angry ... but I can't see a woman going off like that, showing up at a bar and shooting. (Plus the story said the shooter was male.)

So I'm guessing it was something else.

 

It's unlikely as the people who were shot were tourists from New York.

Not the victims. The shooter, blown off over the phone so he shot a couple for looking happy at the moment he found out he was not. That's what I thought and took the architect to be saying.

I got blown off very badly immediately before a solo movie date once, a love story-- and walking out of the theater afterwards alone among a couple dozen couples all hand in hand and kissing and hugging was just
torture. I'm not of a type to kill anybody like that, or even get angry about it, but it certainly put me in a bad bad state-- and a lot of people do get extremely angry with folks who have something good that they don't have. If you are one and suicidal as well, you might well take somebody with you...

More and more “unhappy” people, people who might possibly shoot themselves are moving to take people with them.
But 4 people with body armor is a different story. I’m just completely at a loss to understand. Why they want to kill innocent people or why they want to go out in a blaze of media “glory” ??????

“According to a report from Denver ABC 7, four men were taken into custody at a Denver hotel on Friday night over fears they were planning a mass shooting at this week's Major League Baseball All Star Game.

According to the report, the local police were contacted, "after receiving a tip from a maid working at a hotel not far from Coors Field, who discovered more than a dozen weapons and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition inside one of the rooms Friday night."

The report goes on to note that one of the men taken into custody has recently posted on Facebook about his recent divorce before claiming he was going to "go out in a big way."

If we assume the maid was foreign-born, someone from a shithole country stopped domestic 'Merican terrorism. Kudos to her.

 

Remember, the All Star game was supposed to be in Atlanta but MLB moved it because of the voter suppression bills. I wonder if that will factor into this.
