I don’t suppose you’d be interested in hearing about the Columbus fans who have gone out of their way to be dicks to Austin fans. I am pretty sure I could match your list 1 for 1.
The club sold 3/4 of the stadium as season tickets. There is a remaining season ticket waitlist of 21,000 people.
Someone asked what the season ticket base was. That was my answer. It is about 15k of current season ticket holders + a long wait list. Which part is unclear?
I have yet to make a post about Columbus on this thread that wasn’t a response to a Columbus fan attacking Austin. So what is your question again?
Just going to slide in here and kindly request the latest Columbus/Austin discussion come to a halt. Thanks!
I think it can't be ignored that Precourt's club appears to be doing very well so far on the business side. He claimed he had trouble in the Columbus market, now he is in Austin and has a larger season ticket base than the "first-rate owner" in Columbus who very nearly created a mutiny within his fan base just a couple weeks ago. Maybe it was Columbus?
Eh, Columbus sold out the luxury suites and has a long waiting list for those. Precourt didn't really try to sell in Columbus because he wanted to be in Austin.
You gotta be ********ing kidding me. I tend to dislike all ownership. At best, I just don’t trust them very much. But the corporate support current ownership has received in Columbus blues out of the water anything Precourt achieved. Same market, wildly different results. I wonder why. Jesus.
Speaking of attendance. 27,421 at the Sounders game today. Tonight was the “full capacity” match for the Sounders and the team has been advertising it for several weeks solid. It’ll be interesting to see if this is will be where the Sounders are at for the rest of the season. Given how quickly and fully Seattle embraced the social distancing, limiting time in crowds, and, most importantly, getting vaccinated, I would think Seattle’s jumbers are going to take a hit as parents avoid taking kids under-12 to the games..
In fairness Seattle did have an early kickoff during a holiday week. New England ? Chicago 8002 Austin 20,738 Colorado ? Seattle 27,421 Vancouver 12,009 (at Rio Tinto) Galaxy 16,453
I think you're seeing that all down the west coast in particular. Places that have taken the disease more seriously in general are going to be slower to go rushing back out to big crowds.
They don’t really have one. I think anything over 39k is counted as a sellout, but the Sounders have used a system where they open up a new upper deck section whenever they get close to selling out the open sections.
So when do we get to wring our hands regarding the sub-10k attendance, next year? Just looking at the numbers, Chicago and Red Bulls seem to be somewhat worrisome...
The Red Bulls have been operating under Covid restrictions. NYC have confirmed why sharing RBA was never a good idea. Chicago didn't sell as many season tickets is my guess, so they're not including as many STH no-shows.
This year is a loss because of the lingering effects of Covid and the reaction to it.. Even if the governments are saying they have reopened, people are going to take a wait and see approach, particularly in area’s that were more rigid with social distancing, lockdowns, limited capacity, etc.
I thought pre-covid, they only opened the upper deck sections for certain games announced well in advance? Portland for sure, probably Vancouver and maybe I remember LAG? Are they now opening upper deck sections based on sales?
