but he's apparently crap and only destined for the 2.BL - this report makes no sense to many gathered here. I am confounded.
Source The Leverkusen rumor is based on an interview with former Bremen scout and now Leverkusen roster planner Tim Steidten. He obviously didn't confirm directly but we know that Leverkusen has the money. It's also been reported that 3 other Bundesliga clubs are interested. The question is whether Bremen is willing to sell him for under 10M. I don't think so if some of the other rumors are true (Augustinsson to Lazio, Pavlenka to Chelsea, Bittencourt to Benfica) because that would easily generate the money that Bremen needs and give them more leverage.
They are hoping to get the same price Sunderland paid for Altidore 8 years ago, which is fitting, all things considered.
I was being sarcastic, but i appreciate the rumor link. Bremen doesn't have much of a leg to stand on with the transfer. Obviously Josh wants out. The Parachute payment thing in Germany doesn't much exist. If they need to liquidate to stay in a good position financially, then the only bargaining chip they have is a quick return to the top division. After watching them last year, that is not exactly a guarantee with or without Josh. Is he worth 10 million? probably. But Bremen's situation may discount him slightly
Reading that link (through Google Translate), it does sound like Frankfurt isn't willing to meet Bremen's 10 million euro valuation of Sargent. I can't really tell if they're saying that Leverkusen is though, or just that they could theoretically afford that. It sounds like the actual source for all this is Sport Bild, but their article is paywalled for me.
So he goes for 7.5 and everybody is happy. Please, get it done. I am getting tired of looking for transfer news.
Leverkusen would be a great move for Josh. How's the competition up top? Even if he got fewer minutes, it may be better for him to play on a functional team.
Lucas Alario and Patrick Schick who just did amazing at the euros. Alario is a very decent player as well Whenever I’ve watched. Unless one of them moved Sarge would be definitely behind those two.
I have a feeling that if Josh got a move like this, and I've been on record saying that I don't know that he warrants it, but if he did I do think he'd do very well. He plays well enough in a good team dynamic, and I think if he's given the opportunity he can put some away. I'd love for his sake to see him get this kind of break. Werder, like Schalke 04 are going to have a hard time bouncing back up.
Any idea if Schick is leaving? Seems all those guys that blow up at the euros always have team clamoring for them (and then head to arsenal for 50 percent too much).
If so, seems like it'd be a decent place for him. I'm of two minds on Sargent. I want him in the Bundesliga because I think it'll make him a better player. But I also am tired of hearing the whining here about goals scored for a 21 year old, so think staying with WB in B2 wouldn't be a bad thing either, since he'll score more.
Rumor is: Sevilla FC want to sign Lucas Alario (Leverkusen) or Joselu (Deportivo Alavés) because they expect Luuk de Jong to leave. Leverkusen would be open to a transfer because the contract of the Argentinian striker expires next season. https://www.estadiodeportivo.com/se...preferido-lopetegui-tapado-monchi/345047.html
please PLEASE make this transfer work, dear soccer gods. I’m dying to know if Sarge has IT in him when playing on a non-dumpster fire team!!
I wouldn’t mind a place where he’s the first forward off the bench (although of course I prefer him to start). Main thing is I want him to go somewhere where he will get service and demand him to score.
i think it could be really beneficial for him- a soft reset to help drop some of the bad tendencies hes picked up at bremen and re-learn to play striker in a functional system. sub minutes and cup matches would be more than enough. try to forget everything thats happened to this point- hes a 21 yo kid with plenty of talent and potential (not to mention a ton of experience) but that role is in no way beneath him. frankly thats exactly the difference between the dumpster fire that bremen is and a stronger, much better, functional team. cause honestly just stepping into another starting position (or even worse staying at bremen)- im not sure i see a path to a strong career there. i think we need to stop looking at "almost 3 seasons starting in the bund!" (with very little to show for it) as an accomplishment in and of itself, and more "soccer gods willing, hes got a dozen years ahead of him". keep the lessons learned, the growth he has made in various areas, but those 3 seasons starting for a mess of a team has produced a striker in name only, that doesnt score, but hey- its basically like having a second dmid on the pitch! we all just watched him for 8 months as the #1 for the nats, with more than enough talent and very "accommodating" competition- we need to stop acting like hes a good crosser and passable 10 from taking off. hes simply not. so im all for him getting on a better track. levercusen looks pretty freaking good to me.

Sargent second goal in the 35th. In the 36th, draws a foul that easily would have been orange in the 36th. Sargent scores again in the 37th. Hat trick. He might be too good for this opposition...
So is Bittencourt. He also has 3 now. Double-digit wins are not uncommon against Regionalliga Nord teams. Here is the Livestream:
