Anyway. Apologies to all for derailing but it's hard to trust what someone is saying when they are talking absolute bollocks on one thing.
That you are elevating players who are not in the starting 11 as being more important, do not change the fact that he was in the starting 11 and as such you are postulating that he was their worst player in the starting 11, which is also why I can not take you seriously. Especially with 15 clean sheets and 99 saves and 0 mistakes to his name that season. And yes, I do know that he was mainly selected as Leicester City's Player Of The Season because of his performance in Champions League, which I find just as ridiculous as not rating him highly for his many (and more important) clean sheets the season before.
Denmark look really well organised and solid in all departments and no doubt will be a tougher test than Ukraine. Maehle looks a really good player and gets forward well with good delivery. I am confident we will break them down though as we seem to be getting better as the tournament goes on. Will be interesting to see what attacking players Southgate goes with as makes slight tweaks each game based on the opponent. Kane and Sterling will be guaranteed starters but will be interesting to see if he switches anyone else up. Have had to eat my words a bit with Southgate as was giving him a hard time after the Scotland game for his team selection but the last 2 performances have been great
No. You still have no idea, which is why your reliance on the stats is daft. I am sure @Jimmy Skitz knows who those three are as do all Leicester fans. Take the loss on this.
Well, I suppose you will postulate that lcfc.com is wrong about it too then ? : https://www.lcfc.com/galleries/1745265/leicester-citys-player-of-the-season-winners-on-filbert-way In any case, everyone with even a tiny bit of knowledge know that he is the kind of keeper who is a leader who really command his defense, so putting him down like this as if he was kind of a weaker link is just silly, or perhaps you do not really rate the huge impact and importance of keepers in England ?
I guess you then also do not want to give him credit for the FA Cup this year, that Leicester would never have won without him.
We are talking about 2015/16 and your claim he was the key reason. I merely pointed out he wasn't in the top 5 reason. Which he wasn't. I'm sorry that you are so upset that this is the truth. He's my favourite Leicester keeper of all time but he wasn't a top 5 key reason in 15/16. I never said he was a weaker link, you decided to be offended and make up that argument. Every player in that season played, collectively, at a level that a Leicester team has never played at before or since.
It's like banging your head against a brick wall. He's not even been the best Leicester keeper at the Euros
I was most impressed by Denmark based on their game against Belgium. Sure they may have been playing off of adrenaline, but they still made life difficult for Belgium during most of the game. I like their midfield and have created much more with Damsgaard in the side. He's proven to be a very creative, tricky player. Yurary and Dohlberg have played close to their potential in the tournament as well. Granted, they haven't had as tough a go like England has. Belgium has really been the one tough side they've played so far and England could be harder to play against especially being in London. I think Denmark has a slightly better midfield, but England is better overall in my opinion mostly because of the shape of the team, plus the Kane/Sterling attacking partnership has been the best in the tournament. Then England's defense has been as rock solid as you could get pretty much. Denmark will have to create a goal like they did against the Czech Republic for their second goal. Denmark's defense has been reasonably good. Allowed five goals (really 4 since Kasper's head was clearly elsewhere against Finland), but they do give up some decent chances and have been shaky a time or two. England should get some goal scoring chances against them since Denmark will try to play. I was more worried about Croatia three years ago in the semifinals compared to Denmark in my honest opinion. The Croats midfield of Modric, Rakitic, and Brosovic were more formidable and game changing than what Denmark presents, plus they had Mandzukic as a striker. Given the form England is in and all the options we have that have gotten minutes, I like our chances. EDIT: England have been extremely good at limiting every oppositions best player all tournament long. Croatia (Modric), Scotland (really don't know tbh), Czechs (Schick), Germany (Kroos), Ukraine (Zynchenko).
No you were even pointing to players who never played a game as being a better reason than him, which is putting him down, as I wrote, with only 8 and not 15 clean sheets, then Leicester would not have won that title.
Kasper Schmeichel didn’t win player of the season the year Leicester won the title and you are talking like he is one of the top keepers in the world, yet no one has ever come in for him, he is a quality prem keeper but not on the same class as Ederson, Alisson etc. The truly world class keepers
Games are won by players on the pitch who are able to keep focus, and not by events that has nothing to do with it, just ask the Danish NT players if they believe all the media nonsense about them riding on emotions.
Where did I ever write that he did ? And yes, Schmeichel is not the best but among the best keepers in the World, if he was not, Denmark would neither have qualified for the WC-18 or the Euro-20 and he would not officially have been selected among the 3 best keepers at the WC-18.
You still have no idea. Not a good look. You are utterly clueless. Again. He wasn't a top 5 factor in 15/16 let alone the top factor that you claimed.
Says the Dane on the England board who refuses to accept facts. Sorry you are so hurt that Kasper wasn't a top 5 reason. Don't cry.
The problem with Denmark is, that without Eriksen, non of the opponents know who the best Danish player then is, except of cause for Schmeichel who they can not take out of the game.
Could not care less what you think of him, because he has been absolute World class when playing for Denmark the past many years :
Your numerous posts on the matter indicate that you do care. As I said. My favourite Leicester keeper. Doesn't make him a top 5 reason for winning the league. I accept your concession
