There is something to be said about chemistry between attacking players ... And one player can stifle the other . But I really don’t think this is the case here . If they are gonna make that case they need to bring out the tactic board .

Probably none of their attacking players were the prime reason. And that shouldn't be a surprise when you look at their back 4. Biggest disappointment for me though was Kante. Not the worse player by any means but from the level he was playing at in the Champions League mere weeks ago to becoming very meh. These Euro games just seemed to pass him by. The fans in front of me all stood up, blocking my view, and I heard the roar..... I knew that he had scored. They won the World Cup in 1982. In 2004, they failed to go past the Group stage. They won the WC two years later. In 2018, they failed to qualify for Russia 2018. Now....... Of course, they had miserable campaign in 2002, but did absolutely nothing in 2004.
