So who's with me in demanding that UEFA move the Amsterdam L16 to Wembley so the Welsh supporters can go?

I don't know if many of you listened to yesterday's Italian Prime Minister statement. He is working to move the finals away from a country with too many travel restrictions and new covid cases. Fingers crossed!

Mario Draghi just made a statement, nothing more. He didn't work to move the finals.

UEFA already replied him: "UEFA, the English FA and the English authorities are working closely together successfully to stage the semi-finals and final of EURO in Wembley and there are no plans to change the venue for those games" (a UEFA spokesperson said in an emailed statement on Tuesday).

Anyway, if one or more games will be moved from London and Glasgow (a R16 in Glasgow, without Scotland, is a stupid thing), the choosed city shouldn't be Rome. Attendance was really poor until now (only 11-12.000 spectators), stadium has an athletic track and public transport to the stadium is disastrous (no metro).

I totally agree it should not be Rome, even if Government would increase capacity to 25.000 - 30.000 spectators. Stadium experience is poor. As for transport, there are free shuttles and I would not define it as a disaster.
I would move to Budapest, Amsterdam or Copenaghen. Seville stadium is even worse, St Petersburg is not an option, Bucarest or Baku are science fiction, Munich has no plans to increase attendance.

Personally I think all the remaining games should be played at Wembley.

Reports from a leading, and reputable UK News site, claims that the UK will now agree 65,000 for the Semi Finals and the Final, with proof of double vaccination or a negative test prior to arrival.

Looks like they've reacted to UEFA's pressure.

In Bucharest they take in 50% and they allow foreigners in, right?

Baku would be probably too hard to get into, agreed.

Munich and the restrictions definitely not an option, true.

Put it in Amsterdam and move the Amsterdam R16 to Wembley. Move one R16 out of Wembley.

Copenhagen already hosted so many Denmark matches that maybe avoid that option.

    I have access -

Wembley Stadium is expected to be about three quarters full for the Euro 2020 semi-finals and final as part of a deal between the government and Uefa.

About 65,000 fans will be admitted into the 90,000 capacity venue for each of the three matches early next month, either with proof of double vaccinations or a negative test, under a scheme which is close to agreement.

That would be a significant increase on the 45,000 fans that the government has previously allowed into Wembley. Confirmation of the deal is expected in the next couple of days.

As disclosed by The Times last week, the hosting of the climax of Euro 2020 by England was put under serious strain after ministers were unwilling to allow quarantine exemptions for 2,500 VIPs requested by Uefa, or for overseas fans to come to London.

Boris Johnson was concerned that allowing such numbers to come into the country without restrictions would risk a backlash from the public, especially given the decision to move “freedom day” from June 21 to July 19.

Whitehall and Uefa sources confirmed last night that a compromise was at hand that would allow expanded capacity for the matches.

A number of Uefa sponsors, football officials and broadcasters are likely to be given exemptions from the usual 10-day quarantine requirements from amber list countries but may have to remain in a bubble.

Mario Draghi, the Italian prime minister, said in Berlin yesterday that he favoured staging the final in Rome rather than Wembley because of Britain’s rising coronavirus cases. “Yes . . . I will try to stop the final being held in a country where infections are rising quickly,” he said.

The Euro 2020 games in London have been given special status under the events research programme (ERP), which allows them to admit more spectators than the maximum 10,000 permitted under usual rules.

Other events that have been given such status include Wimbledon, where there will be capacity crowds on Centre Court for the men’s and women’s singles finals and The Open golf championship at Royal St George’s in Sandwich, Kent, from July 15-18.

The British Grand Prix at Silverstone on July 18 is expected to be at full capacity — 140,000 people — because it is spread over a 550-acre site and most people will travel by car rather than public transport. The Rugby Football League’s Challenge Cup final on July 17 will have ERP status but rugby union has been hugely disappointed that the Premiership final at Twickenham on Saturday was refused test event status.

Separately, Uefa is poised to postpone a convention to discuss the future of European football that was planned for London in the final week of the Euros until later in the year. The “landmark consultation” with leading figures from all parts of European football was announced last month after the collapse of the European Super League.

Qatar’s government has announced that only people who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be allowed to attend next year’s World Cup. It is in talks to secure one million doses to ensure all fans planning to travel are immunised if vaccines are not available in their countries.

So out of the 11 host nations, because of COVID, travel and local non-interest we think that there are only 2 stadiums that could hold a proper final - Amsterdam and Budapest. Neither of which would have many fans from other countries (unless they were close neighbours) as no-one WANTS to travel even if they were allowed. Too expensive/difficult.

Copenhagen was rocking for Denmark games, would be completely different for - say - England vs Slovakia or Italy vs Spain. Spanish supporters don't seem too bothered about going to Seville to watch their team!

It's going to be Wembley with mostly neutrals but a fair number of expats who live in UK. No-one has been to a game for the past 15 months why are people so bothered about this one?!!!

Other outlets are saying that a ‘bubble’ for limited numbers of fans of the competing countries is still being discussed, nothing new here really that was not reported yesterday ( capacity increase) or over the weekend (bubbles).

Who says Amsterdam or Budapest would not have fans from other countries?
Who says none wants to travel even if they are allowed?
From Jult 1st the digital green certificate is valid throughout EU and grants access from and to any EU country without quarantines or other restrictions. And it is inside EU that finals should be played.
The reason why people are so bothered is EXACTLY THAT NO ONE HAS BEEN TO A GAME FOR THE PAST 15 MONTHS. Now that it is possible to go, we are all wondering why the most important matches should be played in the only country where fans are not allowed to enter.

Exactly this. What is so hard to understand...? Many people here are making nationalist comments defending what cannot be defended.

I said many times and it might be difficult to read.. english people accepted laughable rules by the government who is driven by the fear mongering sage team. Now I do not really care but we as european fans feel the effect on that on our own skin now.

I read it, but once again: since July 1st Digital Green Ceritifcate allows free movement throughout EU. This means that round of 16 may be forbidden, but QF are free.
