It really wasn't a penalty, but it was not scored, so I see no problem with it.

Both would end with 4 points with 0 GD (Ukraine ahead on goals scored) with decent goals scored. Almost certain both then advance - with 2nd (Ukraine) getting Italy. Austria would likely get Germany/Spain.

If ever there was a game that looked like a draw, this is it. Hope we're both wrong and it is a back and forth game with an Austria win.

Today's Turkey x Switzerland match actually impacts who Holland will play in the round of 16.If it ends in a draw, Holland will avoid France or Portugal. If Turkey wins, they would likely also avoid that difficult draw.

I think you meant 3rd matchday of the group phase, not R16.
The thing is, regardless of any results, the Netherlands are already the #1 in their group. The first tiebreaking criterion is head-to-head, and the Netherlands beat both Austria and Ukraine and are 3 points ahead of them, so even if they lose to North Macedonia 0-10 and Austria and Ukraine do not draw, the Netherlands would still win the group. So, no, whatever calculation for the R16 won't change how the Netherlands will play because their position is already fixed (and North Macedonia are already eliminated so that game counts for nothing). They will be playing in R16 game #3, Sunday June 27, against the a 3rd placed team from group D, E, or F.

    Nope, I meant R16. :)
If Turkey and Switzerland ended in a draw it would have meant that Holland would play the third place team in either group D or E. Obviously that didn't happen so now Holland might play a team from group F (but its not certain yet).

So Arnotovic only received a one match ban for running his mouth off about Albanians?

So Austria advance to play Italy.

Ukraine's next game is a lot less certain. 3 points with -1 GD might not be good enough. Though they will likely get some good news from group B later today. Their other hope might be group E. They would need Poland to lose or draw plus have Spain and Slovakia not finish in a draw.

A draw b/w Croatia and Scotland would also be great for Ukraine, but of course those 2 teams will be doing everything they can not to draw.

Maybe Ukraine threw we're willing to lose if it meant avoiding Italy. Austria tend to be very physical. The times I've seen them, they were all too happy to hack away at players.
