Shomurodov joined Genoa and became the second Uzbek player to play in Serie A after Ilyos Zeytulayev. Congrats and good luck.
After 5 years of absence I remembered that I used to have a profile in BigSoccer. It wasn't easy task to find my password though. So, 5 years ago I went to Europe to do Masters Degree in Sports Management, but left my studies after one year as I was offered a position in the coaching staff of the Uzbekistan national team which was my biggest dream at that time. Unfortunately, we were fired after working a bit more than one year, so I have no relation to the WC-2022 qualification failure. Vice-versa I was the happiest person when I saw Abramov losing 3-0 to Saudi Arabia in the last game of Round 2 qualifiers. Now, I'm back to the coaching staff of the national team whose only objective is to restart everything from zero and to qualify for Asian Cup-2023. I hope all Iranian and Korean madafakas in this forum weren't exterminated completely as I used to have a lot of fun with them in good old days
I think Uzbekistan will play Asian Cup. I mean Katanec is a good coach. Next is a friendly against Japan

Not the best start for Uzbekistan but not the end of the world, a 0-0 draw with Syria. I guess both sides are hoping to get that win vs India to be enough to make the knockout stages
There were some improvements by picking up the stating 11 for the match against India. Tomorrow is the real test agains Australia. Hope at least we do not loose with such amazing fans.
Ha ha erm.... I have no idea who you could be talking about.... Anyway, some "alternative" highlights from the game...
18 years old Mukhammadali Urinboev has moved to FC Brentford England on loan from Pakhtakor. A big milestone in uzbek football.
Some more transfers in last days. Yakhshiboev --> Ordabasy KAZKHSTAN Amonov --> Khorfakkan UAE Erkinov --> Al-Wahda UAE Masharipov --> Esteghlal IRAN Urunov --> Persopolis IRAN Eshmurodov --> Selangor MALAYSIA Shukurov --> Kayserispor TURKEY Turgunboev --> Sivasspor TURKEY
Uzbekistan won 3-0 at home against Hong Kong and qualified for the next round of WC 2026, as well as for the 2027 Asian Cup. But again and again, a very poor performance by some veterans like Sayfiev and Shukurov. Hope Catanec will give a chance to young talents against Turkmenistan and Iran.
