    That is just sad.
From what little I know the heart starter is for those who have fast and highly irregular heartbeats which can cause a stroke. That is what happened to Eriksen. This device will curtails a lot of physical activity. Even lifting weights is discouraged. Serious lifestyle changes follow the implementation of such a device.

I've always rated Volland as a better version of Lukaku. In terms of being physically strong and a forceful striker.
But Lukaku always performs better :((

I don't think it is prudent at all to let Eriksen play pro football again ever. And his family should be knocking this into his mind as well.

He is already 29 and it is not a shame at all to stop his playing career at this point. Many younger players without his playing achievement had to stop playing one way or another in the past.

Eriksen should definitely not tempt providence and retire. I'm pretty sure he's made enough money to have all of his basic needs covered for the rest of his life. If he still wants to be involved with football he can become a coach, otherwise I say it's time to enjoy life.

It has been recommended by both Danish and foreign experts, and so it has now been decided that Eriksen will undergo surgery, not for any physical damage, but so he will get an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) that will keep him safe and secure that he do not need to worry if this will ever happen to him again.

Same happened to Daley Blind back in 2019 who also got an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, and he is still going strong, playing for Ajax and the Netherlands at the Euro-20, and he is 31.

    Eriksen
also seem to be very keen on returning to the pitch by the look of what he has said the past few days.

A pretty well fought match up until this point, but Sweden finally get their breakthrough from a penalty. Pks looking to be a deciding mark again this EM

Could've been 2-0 Sweden if Isak was able to pull the trigger quickly there. Needed to be a bit more instinctive and just shoot

Dubious penalty award, both Lovren and Schick had their arms up when jumping.

After having received the ICD surgery earlier mentioned, Eriksen was released and discharged from hospital earlier today and then straight away went to visit his NT team-mates at the NT camp and hotel.

Croatia or Mexico are going to be the next first timers to win the WC IMHO.

Croatia could still get through with a win against the Scots.

Scrappy first half. Nothing memorable so far.

There are no 'characters' in this English side.
Any of you guys remember the 1996 EC England Scotland game and Gascoigne's goal.
That guy was a real primadona. Made the game fun.

Croatia have good players but I think they're in a transition period right now. The old guard like Modric, Perisic, Lovren, Vida are all over 30 and on the gradual decline years of their career. While they still miss the presence of someone like Mandzukic up front as he's now retired internationally.

There's some younger guys coming up, but 2018 was their best chance IMO when they reached the finals. I'm not quite convinced yet that players available for them in 2022 will be as straightforward.
