There is still A LOT work to do.. but so far Rueda has done a fine job... We don't tie this game with Queiroz.

We should have won it but I can take the tie with open arms

I don't know how we got a point out of that but it feels like a win for sure, hard to say if the game plan would of worked at all because those two early goals completely flipped the game but clearly Argentina was gassed by the second half and we looked much, much better. Muriel is a key attacker for us, his form is so good and he's not just a goal scorer but also a creator, the chance he missed but created for himself is just not gonna be something most guys can create with that dribble.

We need to stop benching Barrios ffs, we showed a lot of guts to keep pushing and fight back for a point that game, the two goals are against are whatever, hard to really do much about them other then work on set piece marking but Romero's leap to get on that was pretty sick. Tesillo is really limited, we need to find someone else to play there because Tesillo going forward is pretty weak, although he did have a nice cross that led to the penalty but opposition know he can't dribble or progress the ball at all.

Happy for Rueda, that was shaky at the start and the game got flipped but we have something to build on and thank god other teams around us all dropped points. We are super lucky to be where we are at that point and we can't waste it.

Also thank god Rueda is willing to scrap a game plan and made a ton of subs early, if he doesn't do that we probably don't get that point, we needed to have fresh legs and guys to press like crazy and he pulled the trigger, CQ def doesn't do that.

Honestly I am happy that we got more than 3 in these two important games and we're within range once again for qualification. We just have to be careful when qualifiers come up and hopefully these players continue to improve and get us to what we need with James, Falcao, and Arias back..

Please, enough of the 3 defensive minded midfield lineups. Always against the big teams, always works against us.

Thankfully, we changed out of it quickly and were able to get a draw.

Mina and Medina are out for the next game because of yellows. Is it the first copa America game or the next qualifying game?

Should be qualifiers technically unless they changed some rules and made it regardless of what type of game it is.

Stuck between Ospina or Cuadrado for MOTM. Ospina had amazing saves to keep us in the game. Cuadrado has really stepped it up these last two games and played like a captain saw that as soon as he took off on Davinson. We need that type of anger. That 2-0 with Queiroz for sure wouldn’t have been turned around. Muriel gave us that spark and the subs for sure flipped that game. Coming back from 2 goals against Argentina isn’t easy at all. Proud of these guys and honestly I loved that they did it without James. James is a plus but we finally proved that we can play without him. Good stuff from Colombia just gotta work on that defense.

Agree with all except that “we finally proved that we can play without James”

Ospina played mistake free second half and made some amazing saves, and that was something I said in the Peru folder. When James isn’t around we have no margin for error.

if we had beaten Argentina w/o James then fine you can say we proved we can play without him.

Against Peru it was 2 quick Aerial attacks against a smaller team.

Against Argentina. We had what 5-6 corners? None anywhere near goal. If Mina hadn't murdered their GK who knows.... if we would have tied.

    Free kicks were a joke.

Colombia needs better defenders. Today Sanchez and Mina were god awful. Medina did fine but Tesillo offers almost nothing defensively or offensively. Moreno who they put in to replace Mina did almost nothing.

Moreno and Lerma to me were probably the worst two today. Other than 1st Half Rueda sending out the team he did.

    What a freaking emotional rollercoaster.

Rueda - 6 - Blew his starting lineup by keeping Barrios and Muriel on the bench. But he was quick to recognize his error adjust and able to calm the troops at halftime. Both goals came from his subs.

Ospina - 9 - Three or four incredible saves. Just enormous.

Tesillo - 6 - Ironically much better tonight, though when he gets the ball near the opposition goal you just feel in your heart he is about to give it away...

Sanchez - 4 - Just too passive on their second goal. Late in game turned on his jets a few times to keep us in the game.

Mina - 3 - I love him but he was bad tonight and lucky to stay on the pitch. His taking Emi out of the game was probably the key turning point. Their defense just didn't have the same tranquility after. As a Villa fan, I really hope Emi is OK.

Medina - 5 - Thought he was fine. Wasnt involved in their goals (that I remember) and got fwd.

Cuellar - 5 - Distributed well. Was the right move to swap him for Barrios though.

Uribe - 4 - Got beat in air by Cuti on their first goal. Was invisible for large stretches.

Lerma - 3 - Christ. The commentators said he hasn't touched the ball something like 20 minutes in. Had a nightmare.

C4 - 9 - Put the team on his back. Everything went through him and he took his men on mercilessly. The play he made on the byline to steal the ball, keep it in bounds and then kick start a dangerous counter had a huge emotional lift for the team. Wonderful to see his form translate.

Zapata - 4 - Snatched his chances high. Was really isolated early but with the entrance of Muriel was more active and his movement to the wing was effective again.

Muriel - 7 - Plays with such force. Snatched a couple of chances that I was certain were goals after nice plays. Beautiful penalty!

Barrios - 6 - Brought order and street smarts. For me, should start all the time.

Borja - 7 - Saved the day. Some infantile stuff, but when it mattered he delivered.

"Yairo" - 6 - Came on strong and ran at tired defenders well.

I really appreciate the spirit of the team and that they never said die. Rueda has to prepare well for that game in La Paz and Chile, we can really build from these two fixtures moving forward and for now, we are alive!

Yeah, it is the next qualifier. Although he struggled today, gonna miss Mina in Bolivia against Moreno, who seems to score by header every game in La Paz.

So surprisingly Chile and Bolivia drew...

This means that we stay in 5th place tightly with Uruguay who is only above us due to GD.

Lets do away with Lerma, not gonna blame him or anything and he only got 30 minutes but when we play him in a 3 as an 8 we lose a lot of control in the midfield. We have guys who can defend from the front we don't need to have so many holding kids who are passengers in posession, lets be brave and and rely on our attackers to help out and stamp ourselves on the game and play on the front foot.

This. We have elite players. Don't need to play scared. If you are worried about midfield, start Barrios and let him work.

If we had just lost with dignity to Ecuador, we'd be fourth tonight.
