How's this for stats? A Canadian won the CL in 2020 An American won the CL in 2021 That's unbelievable.
1. USA winning the World Cup 2. American winning Balon d’Or 3. American playing in and winning CL Things I never thought I’d see when I became a fan in 2002. This is huge for the sport.
At some point we’re going to have to recognize Zach Stefan for being the first American to earn a champions league runners up medal.

Was a good moment for him, from a cynical pro soccer perspective, to be sure. No hesitation, right into the dashers. Bears-level stuff but not so hard as to draw undo attention. Exactly the right move.
I screamed so loud, I sent my baby into a inconsolable fit of crying. I think that is the first time I have ever done anything to make him cry. My wife is used to me screaming at sports, but ran into the room convinced I had somehow injured myself. Man, it is so awesome that our guys are playing in the most important games.
what on earth does Pep do to these guys? My theory is he is too strong mentally and makes his teams weaker by association. Puyol at Barca was a bruiser who didn't take anything from anyone. Pep needs that kind of player but refuses to bring one in. The second his teams encounter real hardship they wilt. it is funny to me, Pep needs a Mourinho player to make his team mentally strong (No fern in the final was idiotic) and Mo needs a pep creator in the midfield to complete his style of teams. Don't kid yourself, along with Klopp and Allegri, those two coaches are peerless over the last 20 years.
