Tell me about it. I remember when Germany won the 2014 World Cup, some pundits claimed this was thanks to the influence of Guardiola, and they will make the same claim if England win the Euro this summer.
So Kai gets the nod over Pulisic and it's Kanté and Jorginho in midfield otherwise as expected. Big news on City is no holding midfielders, Pep is going for it
From the way the team is listed on the 5th stand it looks like TT is sticking with Dave at wingback and James in the back 3. Surprising given the problems James caused them from the wing. For me Dave does not get deep enough but TT is a much better manager than me
Was just chatting with my old man about that. We both agree that we struggle to see what benefits it brings given all the evidence to the contrary. Team is 100% what we expected and likely what Pep has been planning for. We will create chances but this time we have to be ruthless. Hopefully we get the very best of the German duo.
Wearing the same ‘96 home top, drinking the same beers, and eating a brat prematch like I did in Munich. Here’s hoping for the same result. Let’s enjoy this, y’all.
Im fine with the starting 3 up top. Time for Mount to show up. Time for Werner to stay onside. Hope Kante can go at least 90.
Too excited for this to really care about the XI. Pretty much what most of us expected. The whole James at RCB thing is undesirable but whatevs.
Bizarre considering just about everyone has gotten their shot under TT, Kepa included. Will be interesting indeed.
CBS is bad with not having any Chelsea guys. And there’s not enough booze or drugs to process this opening act. Seriously.
I think whoever starts at wing-back, they might switch depending on how the game unfolds. I wouldn't be surprised to see three different right wing-backs at various points. Havertz and Werner will also interchange, no doubt. Mostly I'm glad we're not wearing that disgusting third kit. Come on, Chels!
Regarding the referee, I'm not moved one way or the other by his fracas with Guardiola, other than to say that Pep at the time said the referee was wanting to make himself involved. It's not that he has beef with Guardiola specifically.
On the tiniest off chance that any of you don't have access to the game, BT Sport's coverage is free on youtube.
