Pffft! Non-Rockers can't recognize the Utah Chapter of the Kiss Army? Joseph Smith said it would happen in 1948. I guess he missed that one.
Winner, winner ... Football Club Central Sports Club of the Army 1948 Sofia of Bulgaria's First League
Someone last week (in another thread) posted a kind of "matchday in review" video that goes over all the games. It was around 15-20 minutes long, narrated by some British guy. Anyone know what it's called and how I can find it on the MLS website? I really enjoyed it. @Stuart95, maybe you can add this to your daily post when it comes out every week? Thanks!
Sounds like the MLS review show on ESPN+ that they repost on YouTube. Here is this week's show and you can subscribe to the channel.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9614741/Court-order-allow-15-year-old-sign-NSWL-team.html So this happened... I hope this doesn’t affect MLS’s structure.
I doubt it will hurt MLS too much as the NWSL terms are tied to the extremely tight budgets. More importantly, (IMO) if this helps push other US sports toward more developmental academies and away from further exploitation of the colleges than I'm all for it.
That's almost a sure thing now for basketball. In the last week or so, we've seen 2 HS juniors skip their senior year to sign with a startup league at 6 figure salaries for 2 years before they're NBA draft eligible. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...-school-juniors-join-elite-league-sources-say We saw another HS junior announce he's graduating early and instead of "reclassifying" to be recruited this year, he's signing for 2 years in the NBA G-League before he becomes draft eligible. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...enderson-join-nba-g-league-ignite-next-season Finally, we saw the announcement that 8 elite HS basketball teams are forming their own national HS league this coming year. https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/i...form-national-league-set-begin-2021-22-season All of that makes me think we'll see the NBA take the next step beyond just having G-League teams and start having full fledged academies in the not too distant future. The only league where I don't see something similar in the long run is the NFL.
Awesome! Thanks! @Stuart95, any chance it wouldn't be out of your way to add this to your daily? I understand if it's a pain in the ass to find it, and will always appreciate that you've taken on the mantel of "Daily MLS News Provider".
The NBA is definitely moving towards development academies. Commish Adam Silver has openly spoken about this in interviews. He's specifically mentioned European soccer & basketball academies, as well as MLS academies as a blueprint for the future of NBA player development.
