Mid March and he hasn't played a minute. Yeesh. Here's hoping he'll get some time in the cup tomorrow.
He wasn't even called to the bench during the last cup game. Would be interesting to see if the coach has written him off for this season or if Pizzuto just hasn't been good enough in training. Not sure last year's injury is an excuse anymore.
Give him time, he’s had setbacks and is adapting, but yeah was hoping he’d have made an appearance by now.
I doubt Pizzuto sees the field this season. Lille's lead in the league has shortened and there are a number of other midfielders that are older and more established than Pizzuto that have also not played much this season and are higher up on the depth chart. From a NT point of view, I don't see what the problem is. He's not needed on the NT at the moment so his development is a priority and not a necessity.
He's still young. He has time to develop. I think he'll be OK but he'll need to see some minutes next year or start thinking about a loan maybe...
To me it seemed that since he comes from a family with better then average economic resources they were able to tell pachuca to "suck it" and were not going to be bullied like they do most players.
Must be nice haha. Hopefully he can breakthrough next season. He won’t see any national team activity this summer, so he’ll be fully focused with Lille.
I just hope he practiced as hard as he celebrated a title he had no hand in winning. Dude gave me Nery at Shakhtar vibes.
Lille just sold Soumare to Leicester... They'll probably replace him via the transfer market but if not, that should help Pizzuto get some minutes even if he's not a first team regular...
Lille has a good team that’s also pretty deep and full of young players. Pizzutos goal should be to just get some time off the bench or cup games this year. He’s still young and allowing himself to fully recover from his injury this year was a good thing. We can’t forget that he pretty much has no first division experience so it might take him some time to adjust, especially with the great internal competition he has at Lille.
