I thought FIFA didn't like this sort of thing resolved in regular courts? US law generally favors damages over specific performance. So if MLS wins, they may collect some money but shouldn't expect to see Kaku in the league soon.
Reports in Brazil that NYCFC are signing Talles Magno from Vasco de Gama in Brazil for $12 million. Lots of chatter last year about him going to one of the big clubs in Europe and how he was the next Neymar. Of course that didn't happen and you sure can never know how much to trust any reports out of Brazil. So file this as a solid shmaybe.

Does that make him automatically a DP (the transfer fee) or can he slide into the new U-22 initiative if his salary is low enough? I'm still confused by this new mechanism.
Official: It's official! @talles_magno2 is rocking with #NYCFC 🖊 @Dumbomoving— New York City FC (@newyorkcityfc) May 19, 2021
Transfer fee has nothing to do with it. From the roster rules regarding a U22 player: "A player’s salary may not exceed the Maximum Salary Budget Charge in any given year, including option years." So a team can spend whatever they want in fees, it is just that salary that counts (which would include a signing bonus. So you can't pay someone 500k a year for 4 years and give him a 6 million dollar signing bonus). However, most players that would command really big fees are going to want more than max salary.
Here's hoping CFG finally gets one right! I mean going into our 7th season law of averages is on our side, right?
Galaxy sign a d-mid from the team that just won Ligue 2. Rayan Raveloson is a 𝕲.@RavelosonR22 x #LAGalaxy— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) May 20, 2021
Still not an out and out striker but he'll do for now. I can't see any evidence of Man City being involved in this transfer but I'm sure they'll be very interested.
MLS appears to be signing the guys with the shortest names on the Madagascar national team. (Anyone considered signing Baggio Rakotonomenjanahary?)
¡Viva el rey!Carles Gil has signed a contract extension with the club through the 2024 @MLS season.#NERevs | #VamosNERevs— New England Revolution (@NERevolution) May 24, 2021
RSL addressed it's yawning chasm of a need for another starting-caliber center back via a two-year contract with Toni Datkovic. Story here. Seems unlikely to set the league on fire, but is also a big upgrade over what we have in the #2 or #3 CB spot.
RBNY trades Brian White to Vancouver Whitecaps FC us 🤝 2020 NYRB Offensive Player of the Year.#ItTakesAVillage | #VWFC— Vancouver Whitecaps FC (@WhitecapsFC) June 2, 2021
This is probably better suited on a different thread, but players don't get a cut of any "funds" they're traded for do they? I'm pretty sure players in other leagues get a percentage of their transfer fee; just seems like for someone like Brian on a smaller contract it could be a welcome bonus for being wanted, not to mention soften the blow of having to completely up root and move.
Guessing with all contracts still owned by the league, it really isn't a transfer in the traditional sense.
Charlotte FC signs Christian Fuchs https://www.yahoo.com/news/charlotte-fc-sign-decorated-premier-183807498.html
Union sign Alvis Powell https://www.philadelphiaunion.com/news/philadelphia-union-sign-defender-alvas-powell
Fuchs will count as a domestic player (as per most recent article on the MLS website). It appears he already has a green card; his primary residence has been in the US since 2014.
Several reports from both sides of the border that Nashville is close to signing Ake Loba from Monterrey. They initially were trying to sign him last year but were outbid by Monterrey. Reports are they are paying 6 million for him (he went to Mexico on an 8 million dollar transfer) so this is a fairly big money signing, particularly since his salary has to be pretty good in Mexico.
When I saw this title, I thought they'd swapped two words and it was supposed to read "Houston Dynamo sign teenage defender Hadebe" -- turns out Teenage Hadebe is, slightly confusingly, not a teenager. https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/hous...teenage-hadebe-ink-tim-parker-to-new-contract
