Sorry to all that lost tickets. I really hope some people get to attend matches! Keep the dream alive! Lost my first ones tonight: 4 x Match #50 - FF Category from the very first ballot. Please UEFA stay away from the rest I beg.
I doubt the Ministerul has discussed this with UEFA, otherwise plenty other venues would be doing the same. Seemed obvious to me from the start as a way to maximise attendances, UEFA don't like it because it would make them look bad for demanding quarantine waivers for their officials, sponsors and likely hospitality payers.
My cancelled England v Scotland ticket was Cat 1, so hopefully for you, the ballot has been done and you've kept it.
Me too. Can only be a fix. There must have been loads of overseas fans who got tickets for the semis and final from overseas who can't, won't or don't want to travel and cancelled their tickets on their own initiative. Given that the government and FA have been saying that this match should be 50% or more, possibly even 100% capacity, there can be no way that people can be losing their tickets for thise matches at this stage. Fix.
Just this minute lost 4 fans first final tickets 5 England v Scotland and 4 cat 2 England v Croatia absolutely gutted
Do you thing that UK government discussed with UEFA that 10-days quarantine which makes almost impossible for foreign fans to attend a game in UK ? Regarding Romania, there are not known yet the conditions to enter on the stadium. There are some talks, from what I read in last days it seems the acces will be possible for: vaccinated people (more than 10 days after 2nd dose), those with a negative PCR-test (less than 72 h) and those with a rapid negative antigen-test (less than 24 h). P.S anyway, there is a 25% capacity on every stadium, available (more or less, in UK there is a 10-quarantine) for everyone. A potential higher capacity can be a bonus for fans from that country. Could be an option, despite the fact I disagree with that (but I also highly disagree with quarantine in England)
This one of all the cancellations on here really takes the biscuit and must have been an absolute body blow to take. I'm very sorry mate. Not sure if the numbers would have permitted it but it really would have been nice if UEFA had at least left the Fans First tickets alone.
The reason the CL final is in Porto instead of London is because the FA and UK Government refused UEFA's demand that 2000 odd officials and sponsors be permitted to avoid the quarantine rules. As far as the vaccination certificate, it doesn't look like there will be a functioning EU system until the end of July, so I assume the Romanian one will be for locals only.
Will be interesting to see how this works for England/Scotland. I had my second vaccine the other day and at around the same time got a text from the NHS inviting me to download an App called "MyGP". It's in the process of being verified and linked to ,y surgery and my medical history including vaccine record copied to it. Apparently, when this happens and you reach 12 days after your second vaccine, you get a big green tick on your profile page to show your fully vaccinated, which contains a photo, your DOB and NHS number, so in all intents and purposes a vaccine passport, but not actually called that. Will be interesting to see if this is used. I believe that it's England only at the moment, but maybe they are doing it in Scotland too or doing their own version?
Crap I just lost my first semis ticket (match 49) and my Rome QF tickets (match 48). Says “Purchase to be refunded” on those entries
Purchase to be refunded on my eng v Scot tickets has been taken off now what the hell is going on with uefa
I’ve just lost Eng v Czech cat 2 tickets and cat 1 final tickets. Still have Eng v Croatia but not holding out much hope. I don’t understand why they are cancelling semis and final when there is a chance these can be full capacity.
I think you didn't undertsand the point. UK government decided for a 10-days quarantine (for those fans who have a ticket) without the accept of UEFA. It was an unilateral decision of UK government. In the same way, romanian government can decide for a higher capacity (more than 25% asked by UEFA), but only for romanian vaccinated fans. P.S. about CL final, probably you know that UK goverment included Turkey on red list ONLY AFTER it was known that will be an all-UK final. The purpose was preety clear, to force UEFA to move the final on Wembley. But UEFA asked that 2000 people (not only UEFA staff or sponsors, but also media) to be excepted from quarantine (something normal I should say). That 10-days quarantine turned back against UK in this case. Anyway, the CL final was moved in Porto AS A FAVOUR to english fans, who can attend the final in Porto (on green-list), but not in Istanbul (res-listed by your government). That's the ugly true ...
Scotland are doing fk all, or if they are they're keeping it very quiet. I think it's a deliberate strategy to put off people travelling. The EU say they'll have something ready for June but member countries like Ireland say it won't be up and running till the end of July.
Got to love a conspiracy theory... I am not sure the UK govt was that desperate for the CL final to be held at Wembley.
To be fair, as far as I am aware, this "MyGP" app/passport is being kept under the radar. The first I heard of it was when I got a text from the NHS - I haven't seen any publicity or even talk in the press/media about it.
I have lost everything for Wembley total carnage. This includes mine and tickets for others. Gutted. I had FF Final and England v Czech and Croatia. Everyone I know is losing everything for Wembley. As of now I have Copenhagen Rof16 and Budapest Rof16 (100% anyway). I have Rome QF for somebody else.
As I say, the cull of the semi and final tickets has got to be a fix by Uefa - maybe freeing up more tickets for corporates and sponsors? Given full capacity has not been ruled out and lots of overseas fans would have cancelled their tickets because they can't travel, there can be no way that these games can be oversubscribed (or certainly potentially if the full house comes to a fruition).
I have zero respect for the UK Government but I really don't think they'd change their covid travel rules just for the chance of hosting a football game. It takes much more than that, like delaying red lighting India because they were in the middle of negotiating a trade deal. I wish Romania all success in taking the right to decide who to sell tickets to away from UEFA, but I very much doubt UEFA will allow it.
If you download NHS app and register , you can see your vaccination status. Thisis the relevant travel app I believe .
