I know the comments weren’t all in this thread (maybe in the conmebol qualifiers thread and the BeIN thread) but I think a lot of the issue with the Fanatiz picture quality is that the resolution is too high for the bitrate. Fubo transmits at 720p so the resolution isn’t as good but you don’t get blotchiness and artifacting with fast movement. On Fanatiz the static images like the score graphics and when there isn’t fast movement actually looks better, but you get a lot of noise when there is movement on the screen. Ultimately, Fubo looks better at lower resolution.

BeIN Sports XTRA is now on Fanatiz. So now you don't have to switch out of the app to watch, which was annoying.

They’ve scrapped the Brasileiro Pack and rolled it into the basic plan (with no price increase according to their email.) Note if you’re not following the CBS/Paramount thread, Paramount+ will be adding the Brasileirao (they only mentioned Serie A) in English, so the Fanatiz Brasileiro Pack was going to be superfluous for most (although they do show Serie B, although that’s quite niche). The Fanatiz email said that they would show the Carioca. Also Fanatiz has added CATV which shows some games from Costa Rica and Honduras.

Is there any draw now to the Sling World Sports package vs. Fanatiz?

Sling World Sports has DVR. Fanatiz doesn’t have DVR and keeps games on demand only for varying lengths depending on the channel. For GolTV games, for instance, there’s no DVR at all. But if you mainly watch live or are ok with the narrow on demand window for the BeIN games, I think Fanatiz is a no-brainer over sling because it has more content (GolTV and the Fanatiz-exclusive primera game). Although if you’re going to have paramount+ which will presumably also have that game, I guess it comes down to if you watch the extra fanatiz content. (Gol, RCN, CATV, Tigo, Real Madrid TV, etc).

Although I guess if your primary interest is Brazilian sling is better, albeit more expensive. It looks like Sling is showing a lot of the state championships and as far as I know Fanatiz is only showing the Carioca.

I’m watching El Clásico right now on Fanatiz and the picture looks a lot better than I recall on Fanatiz. They must have made some recent improvements, at least as far as BeIN.

EDIT: On my AppleTV it looked great. My kids have kicked me off the TV and now watching on my computer, it looks pretty much the same as ever.

Since a couple of months ago, the picture quality on all channels has been really good on Roku. CentroAmerica TV is an SD only channel, so that one is about as good as they can do, given the source quality. The same applies to RCN (Nuestra Tele) from Colombia. RCN is in HD on Sling TV, but seems to be SD everywhere else.

They now have Peruvian League at least by virtue of GolTV now having a couple of games per week. But I also go to the "future games" page for the Peruvian League and they show future games broadcast by Peru Magico. So it seems like Fanatiz will have these games even though I don't (yet?) see Peru Magico under the "channels" tab.

I can confirm that they're showing the games transmitted by Perú Mágico, as Cantolao-Cienciano is presently available on Fanatiz. The streaming quality leaves a lot to be desired (I assume Perú Mágico doesn't have an HD feed), but it's better than nothing. Perú Mágico still doesn't appear under "channels" although a link to the games when they are live. Also, the games are not archived, as only the live game appears in the "past and live games" tab.

Anyone subscribe to Club Italia? How’s Inter TV is it the same stuff they show on their YouTube channel or is it completely different?

Now the Peruvian League has been wiped off "tournaments" and the current Peru Magico game is not on as far as I can see. GolTV still has a game listed for later today. Maybe they weren't authorized to show Perú Mágico in the USA and it was a mistake that it showed up for me before? I think Fanatiz has had Peruvian league for other countries for a while.

That is strange. The Peru Magico channel is on DirecTV and AT&T TV in the USA. I think it might be exclusive to DirecTV/AT&T TV in the USA. They do have quite a bit of soccer from Peru on that channel. It is an SD channel, but pretty high quality SD.

Also, I noticed that the Brazilian games are missing from Fanatiz now. Maybe the Carioca League games were postponed due to the lock downs in Brazil?

I looked into this further and I found this on the Fanatiz web site:

"With Fanatiz you will be able to watch the matches of the Peruvian Liga 1 live through the signal of Peru Magico and GolTV. The content of Peru Magico is available in Spain and America with the exception of the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Peru.

Through GolTV the content is available in the United States and Puerto Rico. The games broadcasted depend on the original programming of Peru Magico y GolTV."

My theory is that when they added Peruvian football to the US by virtue of GolTV starting to show games, they forgot to geoblock the Peru Magico games. Now they've corrected this and the US gets the GolTV games, but not the Peru Magico games. I VPNed into Fanatiz from servers in Spain, Costa Rica, Argentina and Canada and confirmed that Peru Magico shows up on the channels tab in those countries. I think this is the only football content the US doesn't get on Fanatiz (Latin America appears to get their version of the Golf Channel), but I'll look into this a bit more. If you wanted to VPN, you can get all Peruvian league games, but it looks like Fanatiz in the US legitimately only gets the games shown on GolTV.

But then there's another page that says this:

    Liga 1 (Peruvian 1st Division)
    • All the live games broadcasted by Peru Magico or Gol TV.
    • Content availability subject to Peru Magico and Gol TV programming and not Fanatiz.
    • Content available in Spain and America with the exception Mexico and Peru.
So maybe they will bring the Peru Magico games/channel to the US?

I've spent a lot of time on this for someone unlikely to watch any Peruvian League games.

So they do have the live Peru Magico games, although not (yet?) the channel full-time. Right now they have the Peru Magico feed (SD) of Alianza Universidad-Sport Boys under "featured matches" and also accessible under calendar or if you select Peruvian League under tournaments. Apparently unbeknownst to Fanatiz, GolTV is also showing this match (in HD). But that's not listed under featured matches, or in the calendar or anywhere else. You can watch it on Fanatiz by going to channels and selecting GolTV (English or Spanish).

They now have English language feeds of Argentina Primera games. It appears to be the same audio feed as Paramount Plus. So the Paramount Plus announcement that they would be the "exclusive" home of Argentine Primera in English appears to be incorrect.

EDIT: Now when I press the link for the English language feed (Estudiantes-Independiente), I get an error, so maybe they messed up in making it work earlier in the United States. (The AFA Play Spanish and the TyC links both work).

EDIT2: I VPNed to servers in different countries and the link still doesn't work, so it just might be a broken link, not a rights issue.

EDIT3: On Facebook they posted that the Superclasico tomorrow would be available in English and Spanish tomorrow only outside of the US and Canada, so it seems that Paramount does have exclusive rights after all, and they made the English link of Estudiantes-Independiente available by mistake.

    EDIT 4: I’m done now.
