I have it on good authority that CP will not start the FA Cup final 3 days from now.

You're right...I just realized that...It's another league match in 3 days...CP will have to play well in this match...My guess is he comes off the bench in this one since it's on 3 days rest...regardless, he'll need to look good there to give him a shot at starting against Leicester in 3 days from this match.

It's Havertz turn to start against Arsenal so Pulisic will be the rested one to start the FA cup final (hopefully). I really think there is a strong chance Havertz starts both finals at Pulisic's expense.

Yeah, we all thought he was rested against Fulham to start the CL semifinal second leg. Does Chelsea need height to defend set pieces against Leicster?

If you need height, why not start Tammy over Werner ? :geek:

This does not matter to Tuchel, and he will not base his FA Cup line up on this, but it would be universal/poetic justice for CP to start the FA Cup final and win it. He should start, because:

last season he was dominating Arsenal in the FA final, and had them on the ropes. He scored that goal, and was causing havoc, and then he pulled his hammy after running 30 yards with the ball, and then sacrificed that leg to make a futile attempt on goal.
He was so key in that match, some shitty gooner fans cheered when he got hurt, because they knew he was killing them.

so, CP sacrificed his Hammy for the club in a final (btw, I thought that shot on goal with one leg would endear him to the club fans forever, but unfortunately there is still that small brigade of people claiming he is fragile and is overrated).
So, it would be a great story for him to get the start, contribute for a goal, and hoist the trophy a year after that personal tragedy.
But of course, Tuchel will not care about that sentimentality, which I can’t necessarily fault him for

Well besides his performance in last year's FA Cup, you'd think Pulisic endeared himself to Chelsea fans because he was a MAJOR reason Chelsea qualified for the Champions League THIS year. smdh

I read Chelsea fan forums periodically and I don't get that vibe at all. They seem intent on having Havertz, Werner, Ziyech, even Cho be given chances over him regardless of how he's played. Or the form of those other players.

They seem to consider him very droppable while the others can play poorly and they still call for them to play. It makes zero sense to me.

Yeah I haven’t seen that, most see Werner as needing to be dropped and Ziyech as needing to be sold. Mount and CP get the most positive vibes.

On The Shed End he's ignored, his thread is usually on the second page and he's seldom mentioned in-game unless he scores. His thread is very positive though, full of praise, but with only a handful of routine posters --who may be all Americans, actually.

I typically check Chelsea forums like The Shed End that Suyuntuy mentioned. I figure those types of forums are where most typical local Chelsea fans would gravitate to. Ill check the BigSoccer one, is that a good representation of English Chelsea fans? I spend basically all of my time on BS in the US section so I may subconsciously assume that a Chelsea forum on here is more likely to have a lot of Americans in it.

But wouldn't American Chelsea fans be even more likely (on average) to want to see Pulisic play?

Chelsea fans, like me, want to see the club win. If that is done with Pulisic, all the better.

I like Pulisic and want to see him succeed at Chelsea but I cannot argue with the results we have seen from TT and his rotating players.

Of course, which is why I feel like a more local Chelsea fan forum would be a more accurate feel for Chelsea fans. Of course more Americans are going to lean towards wanting him to play. On the other hand, the English Chelsea fans seem to really disregard him way more then I would expect considering the impact he has had and being the most dangerous offensive player at the club. Meanwhile SEEM to give way more benefit of the doubt to other players. I try to avoid my bias when reading the forums, but really seems like that is the case.

I think there was a lot of hype for Pulisic at the beginning of the season at Chelsea based on his form at the end of last season.

The reality is due to injuries/form/bad Lampard tactics he has mostly been a flop this season until this last month. He has 4 goals and 1 assists in the EPL this year. Those are not the numbers of a star player at Chelsea. Based on almost 2 seasons he is viewed as streaky and injury prone. The fans don't think he can be relied on to carry the team regularly.

The reality is Pulisic can be a dominant player against the best teams in the world on his day but he's never done it constantly over the course of an entire season.

If he wants to be a star I think he needs to stay healthy and have some consistent coaching and teammates. Which means staying at Chelsea and doing the best he can with the opportunities he gets. The last thing he needs is a new coach and maybe a new country to play in.

Hopefully Tuchel can figure out a way to win with Mount plus 3 attackers next year as well.

It's shocking to me that English supporters, not ex-pats living in the US, would find a site based in the US called BigSoccer and would join it to discuss footy.

You can support a player's success all you want, but if he's made of glass*, what good is he to you on a week to week basis?

    *Jury's still out.

Never thought about it but you’d have to ask them. Also if their English and living anywhere other than England at the moment doesn’t change that their English and English supports so kind of irrelevant.
