The Havertz at false 9 is good. I do not get the Billy Gilmour love. Werner was passing beautifully today.

I thought Mount was fantastic. He just pulled strings and ran hard. That kid is something special. Him and Pulisic are going to be problem.

This thread finally looks more like a pulisic thread than an anti-mount thread lol

Any chance Pulisic now loses a spot for the RM match of Wednesday. Would Tuchel go to Werner-Havertz-Mount? I think it’s possible, but I anticipate Christian starting on Wednesday .

Tuchel knew he didn't need CP today. He rested him, he didn't bench him and CP will start against RM.

Never. You get them signed, and put them behind glass.

Not sure a solid game against a bottom three side calls for leaving your best player on the bench in the Champions League semis.

Both Werner and Havertz went the 90 today.

I money is on 1 of those two will be on the bench against Madrid, along with Ziyech. Pulisic should be starting.

Only if your writing for a tabloid British magazine then sure Pulisic lost his place.

Crazy to think he may have already scored the goal to send Chelsea to the Champions League final.

the rest of the EPL just intent on failing to even chase Chelski.

Everton could have been tied with WH on points with a win... L
WH have lost 2 in a row. They could be in the hunt for 4 if they'd only won one of those... even 2 ties would have them in striking distance.
That said, Chelski keeps picking up points, making it hard on the back. 'Pool has been in the best form but they started too far back unless the wheels fall of Chelski's wagon.

    And Leicester keep dropping points.

I think Chelsea is safe in 4th, probably over take Leicester for 3rd in the next few games.

This is the stage when having a good bench and solid rotation players pays.

Sergio Ramos is back and Real Madrid will score for sure. Chelsea is going to need 2 goals. I think Real go through. Just a gut.

It's kind of stunning that no one managed to maintain decent form recently but Chelski and Pool. WH and Everton had a real shot and pffffttt...

Chelski more likely to end up 3rd than not, at current pace, it seems. TT's Chelski is a bit boring for my taste, but fixing the D can't be argued with.

Putting two goals past a full strength Chelsea defense is a big ask since TT has been in charge. CFC were all over them early and it should have been 3-0 at the end of the first half hour, but Timo going to Timo. I think Kai gets the start in place of Werner.

Today wee Billy grew into the game, but I don't see him being near ready for this CFC and should go on a season long loan IMO.

Tammy did nothing today to say play me more, iI know it was game over by the time he got in, but still he is probably gone EOY. If they sell him they really ought to put a buyback clause, dude is a real donkey, but he scores goals. TT is looking for a very specific type striker and those skills just aren't in Tammy's locker.

Pretty stoked about Tuesday. Crazy next couple of weeks.

Not very deep teams and regression to mean. CFC spent 200million euros last offseason, any given gameday they could make a midtable side out of those who did not play. The top players not named Mason Mount are fresh, and Frank Jr is not human so count him as fresh even if minutes played indicate it should not be.

I think taking a team in 9th and dropping fast, and having the mandate to get CL footy next season, probably makes for some risk aversion. I think that Werner's poor finishing has also contributed to some of the bland. Game states could have been much different if Werner finished an early chance on occasion and made the other teams have to come out of their shells.

Not putting Real to the sword when they had a chance is going to come back to bite them. You can't get away with that on that stage against a power hungry super club like Real.

But we'll get to see what MM and CP and co are really capable of. Will be a very tasty lunchtime 2nd leg.

I hope so...but I don’t think this will come to pass. See next two quotes.

Yeah, the Chelsea defense has been stout, but we didn’t see the “real” Real. We shall see if the more experienced team (Real Madrid) will show they know how to get it done when it counts.
I’d love to be proven wrong, since I want Pulisic to be in the Final, but since I’m ever the pessimist, I’ve halfway talked myself into Chelsea not advancing.

My poor Liverpool! I suppose it's just good that we didn't lose a CL spot to a West Ham or Everton. That would have been devastating.

they need to start handicapping teams like in golf, based on total salary.

As far as TT, I applaud what he's done from a practical standpoint, but from a viewing standpoint it's not as exciting. Felt like there were more late game fireworks under Lampard, but might just be that there was a bigger sample of games to remember from.
