Of course they would. ANYTHING can score in an Atlanta strip club. But of course Atlanta's in the Bible Belt and is all holy and everything. . .
Frankowski gets a 5 for that shot that Guzman put on the post, that cross that Offor miss hit and some defensive plays.
Offense sucks defense sucks what can you say. They did not do enough in the off season to get a creator and another consistent goal scorer.
The fact that Wicky looked at that lineup from last week and thought: "Yes. This can work the rest of the season." The fact that Wicky looked at the roster back in preseason and thought: "Yes. That's all we need for this season." I just can't. Gotta write something coherent for my site, but I cannot think of any analysis that does better than just this one picture:
yeah, Wicky deserves some of the blame, but I also think too many guys just aren't that good and several (also not that good) guys are hurt too it's not a hopeful situation
Been bitching about this all off-season. They were banking on too much to go right to trot out more or less the same stuff as last year.
I'd hope that they're planning on putting in work during the summer transfer window. From what I've heard of Mansueto, he'll be putting some pressure on them to do something this season. Maybe not a "need this to work now", but certainly some strong nudging towards picking up an impact DP.
This was something I said on Twitter and am saying again in my recap, but Georg Heitz and Raphael Wicky seem to want to run this team like a small-town club on a shoe-string budget. The Chicago Fire may not be well-known within the city, but they exist within one of the biggest and most well-known cities in the world and are owned by a trillionaire who has made it clear that he wants to spend on the team. The fact that there is such massive cognitive dissonance between the team's reality and the way it's being run is what makes everything worse. This sort of strategy is for a team in a city like Vancouver or Philly or Kansas City. THIS IS CHICAGO, MOTHER FVCKER! MAKE NO LITTLE PLANS! *SLAMS TABLE*
He wanted them to get a star 10 after seeing MLS Cup but they wanted to stick to their plan so he let them do their job
