100%. Would be mutually beneficial. The only way is up for the next manager: https://www.skysports.com/football/...ible-and-defends-young-lions-selection-policy
The England U-21 job might go to a former Chelsea midfield player, but NOT Frank. Former Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole is in contention to be the new England Under-21 boss if Aidy Boothroyd is sacked.
Franks next job? Eddie Howe, Frank Lampard and Sean Dyche are on Crystal Palace's shortlist to replace Roy Hodgson as manager at the end of the season.
Not a bad short list. I’m not sure Frank will take that. He likely wants something higher profile. Dyche and Howe really comes down to style. Likely Howe ends up with the position.
Recommend this article from phil McNulty on the beeb. The word transformative rings true and we've gone from a club in a semi permanent state of 'work in progress' to one that's meeting some of the expectations the quality of the squad demands. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/56789329
While I agree Lamps wasn't ready, Jorginho should focus on doing better than 2 passes into the final third as a center mid in games. Pipe the ******** down, thanks.
Tuchel on Kepa (below). I really respect this. For me, the idea that players get axed and no longer spoken to is utterly ridiculous. Whether it's Jose doing it or Lamps, that kind of thing has no place anywhere. "Mendy is in goal. The change was made for Kepa for the FA Cup game and even before then, the goalkeeper coach and me decided that Kepa would stay one more game after Man City to have it as a reward and feel a bit the rhythm of playing every three days. "We wanted to reward what he is doing in training and in the dressing room which is simply outstanding in terms of quality and personality so I’m very happy he could show it on the pitch. "He had two clean sheets in two difficult matches for us so it’s a very good feeling that we can absolutely can rely on two goalkeepers and they can produce clean sheets. They earn our trust but the situation in general has not changed so Edou will be in goal tomorrow.""
Said it before, and will say it again. F**k this guy. Hope he finds the sunnier climate he so desperately pines for.
#FreeTammyAbraham Similar to my main criticism of Lamps - ex. the freezing out of very valuable players (RUDIGER RENAISSANCE ANYONE??) - I can't quite wrap my head around not using our TamTams. While he was never my favorite or someone I view as a long-term starter @ striker, he has been undoubtedly very useful the last two seasons. The kid can score and assist. In games where we clearly lack an identity up top, he can certainly help give shape to the offense. While we are positioned to get CL footy and hopefully go on to win the damn thing, I can't help but feel that we've made things harder on ourselves by not utilizing a good resource in Abraham.
Thomas has signed a new contract Thomas Tuchel: Chelsea manager signs contract extension until 2024 - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57360302
Knock on wood but he feels like the most likely to find "long" term success with us than any appointment since Carlo. A very young team coming off the back of a UCL win and the biggest upper hand I feel we've ever had when it comes to the transfer market. Promising.
Further praise for Chelsea and Ireland coach Anthony Barry Anthony Barry has been a great asset to the coaching staff at Chelsea FC. https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation...e-for-chelsea-and-ireland-coach-anthony-barry I think our defence improved when we brought in Thiago, Mendy and Chillwell and Frank Lampard did that. Frank also brought in the defensive coach Anthony Barry, who made a real difference in my opinion and he is still on the Tuchel's coaching staff.
Praise for Anthony Barry https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/so...egins-to-make-his-mark-with-ireland-1.4586836
Chelsea are pioneering a "coaching revolution" by loaning out a member of their academy management team to pick up first-team experience in the Football League. James Simmonds works as the Blues' Under-18 assistant manager and will spend the 2021/22 season working alongside AFC Wimbledon boss Mark Robinson. Robinson pitched the idea of loaning staff looking for experience coaching first-team players during a meeting with Chelsea FC chiefs, who were left hugely impressed by his proposal.
Pleased that Emma Hayes has signed a new long term contract with the club. Outside of coaching she has a bright future as a pundit.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer adds to backroom staff as Man Utd poach highly-rated coach Eric Ramsey from Chelsea. Ramsey is well thought-of in the coaching world, having become the youngest British coach to obtain a UEFA pro licence at the age of 27. From there, he joined the staff at Shrewsbury Town, working with the youth team before moving on to Chelsea. Having worked for the Chelsea under-23 team since 2019, he has now been snapped up by United to join Solskjaer's first-team staff ahead of next season.
