What's funny, this is pretty much the same people from FIFA/UEFA who left it to create a new league. UEFA is pretty much responsible for this mess in the first place. This would've happened sooner or later. Barcelona on a verge of being bankrupt as well as other big clubs that are trying to overbid their competitors for the best players in order to win the Champions League and return some of that money. The problem is, only one club will win it and make it far, other clubs will just lose all that money putting themselves into deeper financial problems. But guess who is the only party who will not lose any money but actually make a fortune out of it? Casinos! Sorry, I meant FIFA/UEFA! Long story short, this would've happened anyway sooner or later. It is just a bit funny how FIFA/UEFA reacting to this situation, instead of some dialogue it's like declaring a nuclear war, because they feel that they can lose a fortune because of it, not because they trying to protect something.
Honestly I don't care for any of those irresponsible clubs (and of course I wish all the stupid changes made for them to be rolled back). Just play in some alternate dimension that doesn't affect the football I'm interested in, fine with me. Back on topic to how this will affect Nadeshiko, players playing (at clubs) in the Super League will be banned from playing for and at the World Cup: https://bleacherreport.com/articles...ld-cup-bans-if-parent-clubs-join-super-league "FIFA and the six confederations (AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA) once again would like to reiterate and strongly emphasize that such a competition would not be recognized by either FIFA or the respective confederation. Any club or player involved in such a competition would as a consequence not be allowed to participate in any competition organized by FIFA or their respective confederation." Again, in long term I agree that Superleague is inevitable (Wenger was talking about it around 2009 - that it will hapen within a decade ) but in case of women's football that is very frail atm - any drastic changes may upset it developement altogheter. Yes Superleague is also an opportunity - financial wise - I'm all for having 12 women clubs with budget bigger than Lyon's and starting wage 250k $ per year for any of it's women player. I'm only not so sure if players nowadays would like to risk a pipe dream that so far exist only on paper vs.a real possibilty of beeing cut from women's football mainstream (ie. US Soccer pays well USWNT players for wins and goals) I agree with it 100%. It's pure hypocrisy on FIFA part. They overeacted and run themselves into a corner.
It's sad that, now that a top Nadeshiko player had finally landed in my town, I am forced to wish that she leaves Milan AC next season. Is it confirmed that anyway this situation shouldn't affect the Olympics, but "just" next season?
FIFA gives time to resolve the matter till September meeting, so possible ban will start on from this date.
To be honest, I am not sure that they will make a move with Women Super League as quick as they did with Men's. Again, who needs Women's football really or who cares? Funny thing is, such a move might have actually helped Women's football to evolve in a way. But who knows really... I think Hasegawa should be safe at least for a year or two ))
Intresting.. Mina Tanaka wants to stay in Leverkusen in BL after her contract with INAC will end. That isn't very good news for WE League ...I guess. 1384470060903841792 is not a valid tweet id
INAC probably could offer her more than Leverkusen, but European club scene will surely top that (only after she make herself known ) in other (corelated) news Next week we will see what UEFA has preapared for UWCL in terms of financing ⚽ Ahead of the new @UWCL format launching next season, the #UEFAExCo has approved a new financial distribution model and modernised regulatory framework for the competition. 🔜 More information will follow next week. #UWCL pic.twitter.com/bCHpOrByGt— UEFA (@UEFA) April 19, 2021
I'm really trying force myself to watch Aston Villa vs. West Ham Utd till the end... but it's soooooo anitfootball... oh my, I really feel for Iwabuchi she needs to run from this club and fast. 3 maybe 4 average players and the rest is... well, bad. WHU 0 - 0 AST HT
WHU 0-0 AST FT Aston Villa's now equal on points with Brighton and move above them in table cuz of "better" GD. (which itself is funny when talkin about negative 32 goals difference vs. negative 51) Saturday game aginst them will be crucial in avoiding relegation. Iwabuchi was subbed off at 78th min. She worked really hard in defense but as usual had no one to play with on the offense. Even when she has positioned herself at the edge of the pk box, clear to run unopposed toward goal - waiting for simple through ball from her teammate who wasn't even attacked or pressed - it still never came. Why? Cuz of 253 passes made by Villa ony Iwabuchi was able to made an accurate cross or pass the ball at distance longer than 15 meters. Seriously...it was that bad.
from her Instagram (google translated from French): "After 8 BEAUTIFUL years at OL, I decided to leave the club at the end of the season. This decision was not easy, but I'm really looking forward to new Challenges. I REALLY thank all the staff, all the teammates I met in Lyon and our President Jean-Michel Aulas❤️ Thanks to you, I grew and progressed even as a player, even a person. And thank you very much to the Lyonnais supporters for your support Now I will give EVERYTHING for the team and to look for the TITLE ❤️ thank you so much" Saki
Well done on navigating the Korean equivalent of Wikipedia! (Namu.) I never know where it gets its information, but it's usually right.
Well, actually there aren't good guys, UEFA/FIFA are as corrupt as the others, but the others are worse.
Looks like the owners of the English and Milan clubs just pretend to be incompetent and clueless instead for now and pulled out again in record time. Let's watch what the remaining four clubs make of it revamping the whole effort.
(my prediction in bold) If Japan will top the group then is likely to get Brazil/Netherlands/China or Australia in QF. If Japan will finish in 2 place then is likely to play Brazil/Netherlands/China in QF 3rd place finish would get them USA/Sweden in QF
I would not be surprised if Japan will finish 3rd. God knows what Canada, GB and Japan form will be at the Olympics. At least lots of British players are in good form right now, while Japan wasn't playing at all...
Quite pessimistic on your part. I watched England and Canada last matches and have to say that Japan moves ball around with equal speed if not faster. Transition from defense into attack is equaly fast, other way around will need to be really tested in June in match vs. Brazil (probably). That match should answer a lot of questions in general. Speking about opponents GB's new coach has her own problems. She needs to insert Welsh, Irish and Scotish players into already established English squad.without damaging this team flow. Not easy with 18 players roster. Canada haven't really shown much in their somewhat lucky win against England, and it's basically the same group of players that lost with younger Japan 4-0 in 2019. Chile's much better than Paraguay but I think this team peak was in 2018-2019, they are still well organized in defense but lack the edge up front. It's of no matter as Japan just proved with 14 goals that parking the bus like Argentina did in 2019 will simply wont do. My very early prediction 1. JPN 2. GB 3. CAN 4. CHI
Very Optimistic )) "Japan moves ball around with equal speed if not faster." The only problem is, that's all that Japan does against big teams, no other advantages really. As usual, it's hard to understand who will score for Japan against big teams. I don't believe in Sugasawa against world-class defenders, too slow and not very technical. It's either Iwabuchi or no one... Probably it's gonna be the same strategy. Move the ball around to find some space for someone to make a run and have a chance to shoot. Can't imagine Japan scoring from a distance or set piece or even individual efforts. Maybe a lucky chip shot from Hasegawa or something but not against world-class teams. On the other hand, every set piece is a real danger against Japan. Any fast and physical striker is a threat. Fast wings could be a huge threat as well. Long shots etc. I can't help myself not to worry about defensive problems and not the best goalkeepers...
You think Netherlands will finish third in their group? I think they have got the easiest group and will win it.
Wow, the exact opposite of what I was wishing!!! Canada was locked-in from pot 3. I was considering GB the most dangerous group from pot 2, and we get it. I was considering Chile the most dangerous team from pot 4 and we get it. Frankly, it couldn't have gone any worse than that, in my opinion. We had the luxury of being seeded as the host team and we basically burnt it, since having GB in our group is like having to face a pot-1-like team, I'd say. Canada couldn't be escaped but it's anyway better than China and Australia, in my opinion, and Chile was the only pot-3 team in the first place having a realistic shot as some kind of upset. So, let's forget the home advantage: it will be a hard-fought group that eerily reminds me of the WWC 2019 group. I really fear a similar outcome: a 0-0 draw with the South-American side (with Christiane Endler making miracles to save the few shots we'll manage to sling), a win vs Canada and a resounding loss to GB. Then we get out of the tournament vs Netherlands again...
