The El Paso Conquest (2014) is a Charlie Minn documentary about Bruce Reichman, one of the winningest high school soccer coaches in Texas. Watch it on Amazon prime. https://soccermoviemom.com/el-paso-conquest-2014/
Iron Men (2017) is an excellent film and a farewell to Boleyn Ground, the 104-year home of West Ham United FC. Watch it in the USA on Amazon Prime. https://soccermoviemom.com/iron-men-2017/
In Cold Sweat (2018), a footballer fights the travel ban placed by her husband, which prevents her from competing for Iran. I watched this gripping drama on Kanopy. It opens your eyes to the problems of Permission in Iran, which men continue to hold over their wives. https://soccermoviemom.com/cold-sweat-2018/
Gascoigne (2015) is an easy way to see the good side of a troubled man - Paul Gascoigne. I watched this on Amazon Prime. https://soccermoviemom.com/gascoigne-2015/
Rembat (2015) is a Malaysian comedy with an insane but often funny plot. I watched it on Netflix. You could do worse... https://soccermoviemom.com/rembat-2015/
Unbreakable - The Steve Zakuani Story (2019) is an extremely well-made documentary of a man reviewing his footballing career that ended just short of meteoric. On Amazon Prime. https://soccermoviemom.com/unbreakable-2019/
A recap of the best and worst of the 56 soccer movies I reviewed in 2020. https://soccermoviemom.com/best-worst-2020/
I saw "The Game Of Their Lives" this year. Patrick Stewart is in it. It talks about the 1950 USA World Cup match vs England and some of the preparation for that. It's told in a flashback form from someone (Patrick Stewart?) and his grandson while watching one of the MLS All-Star games. Various MLS players make cameos as evidenced in this first photo of them meeting members of that 1950 US WC team: Here's a photo of the credits: As of this post, there are two showings scheduled for Flix on 12/30 and it seems to be on the Showtime app until April of 2022.
Gujarat 11 (2019) is on Amazon Prime, but perhaps the only reason to watch it is Daisy Shah. https://soccermoviemom.com/gujarat-11-2019/
Elite School (2014) is a view into a German football academy (Kaderschmiede). Well worth your time on Amazon Prime. https://soccermoviemom.com/elite-school-2014/

In Penalty (2019), trying to break a teammate's leg with a club (rather than with a well-timed tackle) is an idea from Lethal Soccer Mom that should never be repeated. On Netflix but not worth your time. https://soccermoviemom.com/penalty-2019/
In Search of Greatness (2018) covers athletes, artists and musicians as examples of various success factors: creativity is chief among them. A good film for coaches. On Amazon Prime https://soccermoviemom.com/in-search-of-greatness-2018/
While I don't recommend Fan of Amoory (2018) for entertainment purposes, it's good for UAE tourism. On Netflix https://soccermoviemom.com/fan-of-amoory-2018
The film and acting are well done, but like most Bollywood films, Sikandar (2009) is overly long. If you like a languid pace and a confounding ending, this could be the film for you. On Amazon. https://soccermoviemom.com/sikandar-2009/
Kick - Sudden Death (2015) is the first soccer horror flick that I've watched, but the truth is I had to fast forward to the ending. On Amazon https://soccermoviemom.com/kick-sudden-death-2015/
February 23 Pelé — NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY Hmmmm... Is it new? Old stuff coming back? I know nothing about this documentary other than that.
It’s an all new movie funded by netflix. I saw one review that said it was good but covered all the stuff that’s already been covered about Pele. I don’t think I’ll watch it, because I’ve already reviewed several Pele movies & documentaries, and there are 600 more soccer movies I’d rather get to...
I did not care much for Fixed, a Football Comedy (2020). But if you watch it along with other works I mention, you might discover a new career in match-fixing. On Amazon. https://soccermoviemom.com/fixed-2020/
OK, i caved. In its chronicle of Pele's growing stardom, the Netflix documentary Pelé (2021) is very well done and shows footage of him that was almost lost to history. https://soccermoviemom.com/pele-2021/
