We must all be in preseason form as there hasn't been a game thread started earlier.

This appears to be a match the Rapids can win if they play as a group and with confidence. I am thinking Barrios will start due to his form in preseason and then he'll really be fired up to face the team that traded him. Also feel Shinyashiki starts as Rubio hasn't been participating in preseason friendlies until just recently and thus may not have match fitness.

    2-1 Rapids

1-1 draw, goal by Barrios. Before seeing the injury report I thought we could steal 3 points tomorrow but now I think getting a point on the road will be good enough. The makeshift backline will leak a goal even without Ferreria but we'll even it out with Barrios returning to Dallas and getting some revenge.

So, the back line will be?

    Beitashour Trusty Wilson Rosenberry

Galván seem to have been injured from just about the entire preseason.

Anyone else going to watch the game anywhere else besides the Celtic? Blue spruce brewing used to show rapids matches BC (before covid) do they still put them on?

Weather report at time of kickoff shows that it will be 62, mostly cloudy, and 40% humidity.

Not a bad temp to play in your first game of the season! Especially for an away game at Dallas

If you’re on the Northside.... Frolic Brewing in Westminster will have the game on in their event room tonight. My buddy is on the taps tonight and he always wrangles a nice Rapids fans in to watch.

Love Frolic! Heading to the celtic tonight for the first game, but agree Frolic is a great choice. Looking forward to the rest of the away games there.

Well, I sure hope Vines and Abubakar are able to get the start despite the 'questionable' status. Vines and Lewis have good chemistry. Barrios did look great in the preseason action I saw. I love the fact that our team isn't experiencing the extreme amount of player turnover that is so common at most clubs these days. We might not have many big name players or superstars, but I really like the core and depth of this team and Fraser's willingness to play young players.

I'll predict a 2 to 2 draw. Goals from Shinyashiki and Lewis, Barrios with an assist. Can't wait to watch the Rapids this season.

Assuming that Vines and Abubakar can't play, I believe that the starters will be:

Yarbrough, Beitashour, Trusty, Wilson, Resenberry, Price, Acosta, Lewis, Namli, Barrios and Shinyashiki.

Bench: Rubio, Bassett, Benezet, Mezguida, Ford and Moor and Irwin.

Over the last few seasons it seems the Rapids give up a goal that is a bit of a head scratcher. So, I suspect that will happen tonight, meaning they will have to score at least 2 goals to win. Hoping they have it in them.

With a relatively cool temperature and not too extreme humidity I wonder if the Rapids will use a lot of high pressure from the beginning of the match.

I'm suspecting that Barrios will be a major factor in the Rapids attack and if Bassett doesn't start he will get into the match at some point.

    A. Only the Rapids would misspell Acosta in the first lineup of the season.
    B. Once again, we have Beitashour specifically to be Vines backup...and we don't use him.

Bassett LB tonight maybe? I have already been on record saying I prefer him there then Beita. But I’d also prefer Bassett used further upfield.

    Tonight shall be interesting!

2-1 Rapids. Or 3-2 Rapids. One of those is where my gut is leading me tonight.

Got my green Kappa Rapids shirt on tonight. Let’s go!

I don't blame Fraser for not starting Beitashour after how poorly he looked in the preseason game against RSL.

If Barrios, Acosta, and Moor all score tonight would that be a former Dallas hat-trick?
