There are a lot of factors, but a guy who can make a difference from the bench can be even more important in a game that goes 120 minutes. I'm sure Tuchel likes the idea of subbing Pulisic in for 30-60 minutes against tried defenders more than he likes the idea of subbing him off after 60-90 minutes in a game that could go 120.
Thomas Tuchel:“We have some tough matches coming in a short period of time, so we decided to give Havertz and Pulisic a rest. They have worked so hard in the last few games and we want them fresh to come off the bench to help us finish the game.”[via @ChelseaFC]— Talk Chelsea (@talkchelsea) April 17, 2021
Had a nice goal, but offside. Back to the FA final. If Pulisic can stay healthy this time, he might get a trophy. This TT's defense is pretty solid, except for that one game. They might take it all in the CL too.
Damn, that goal was awesome. I jumped off the couch and then had the same reaction CP did when the flag went up. I hope he has earned/maintained his start for TT in the CL games with Real.
I thought he might shoot too early but he didn't panic at all and buried it. Great for his confidence even if the flag was up, certainly didn't think he was at fault for being off side, just the timing of the flick made it difficult if not impossible to be on.
man, too bad his goal was offside but I would guess it would at least add into his confidence and positive feeling since it was so well taken with great composure....
CP: "How'd you like that taste of things, Zack?" ZS: "FU, CP. I didn't even bother trying 'cuz I knew you were offside."
What was the deal with the camera angle on the replay of the first offside goal, scored by Ziyech? The camera was placed somewhere in the corner of the stadium. I prefer my offside replays from the sideline, please.
The funny thing was Twellman could apparently tell from that replay that Timo's shoulder was offsides.
Neither are produced on Islay. Oban is actually from Oban where you can catch the ferry to Islay and Jura though we preferred to continue the drive to Kennacraig and catch the ferry there. Great BnB about a half mile from the port. Talisker is from the Isle of Skye. It’s a common mistake being that Talisker is the rare peaty and smoky malt not from Islay. To answer your question, my two go to drams are Laphroaig cask strength with a drop of spring water followed closely by the 15 year Prince Charles bottles. I bought a case from The Whiskey Exchange last time I was in London. Been nursing the hell out of it. The current run of 15 y/o is very good but not quite the same.
Aside from one moment of offside brilliance there really isn’t much to talk about. He definitely didn’t have the energy like he did against Porto but that was to be expected. The kid is class. Need a moment of brilliance, get the ball to CP. Need someone to take over a game? Give it to CP. Now you want a hug?
He actually did have the energy he did vs Porto. You probably just didn’t notice because it was only a 20 min cameo. He tried to get involved and keep the ball, but Porto and Man City are apples and oranges. He did just fine, and will be important to Tuchel as the big games approach. I just hope Tuchel lets him start in CL from here on out.
Just thought about it, a Chelsea vs Man City Champions League final would be awesome... although neither may start, we'd be guaranteed of a YA champion and have a YA vs YA champion league final...
Are you suggesting bungadiri is a she? Either way, he or she clearly does moderating from his or her mom's basement... https://www.bigsoccer.com/threadloom/search?query=mom's basement forum:"41" user:"bungadiri"&tab=824
Tuchel is an odd, kinda boring soccer dude, but he has done a nice job organizing Chelsea's D. Under Lampard it really seemed that was their weak spot, but the formation switches have work really well.
I guess the take away for me from this game is that CFC are playing really well under TT, like really well. Christian is in his happy place again, and is going to be a real factor going down the stretch. If he can stay healthy he will have two years in a row of being in top form at crunch time.
He was anything but boring while he was at Dortmund...can't speak for his time at PSG and haven't followed too much at Chelsea.
