Why do people keep thinking Davies is ever going to be an option? He’s 5th choice right now, FFS, unable to make the bench on a good day. So getting players in or fit would mean he’d be 8th choice.

    We need:
Kabak and another CB. I’m ok with an average player with average pace like Mandi, the main criteria is this fitness (which is why I’m vehemently opposed to Konate).
Two new CM - a more experienced head and a young player. This is where links to Fekir or Tielemans or Dahoud make sense and a player like one of the Dutch kids or Olise as a developmental option.
Someone capable of playing backup to both RB and LB (we had Tsimi on the bench and Milner was still the one chosen to enter as LB in late minutes recently).
A new CF - our game has to adapt a bit and an actual CF, a natural goal scorer can be that change. Daka is my choice. We’ve got Elliott coming back and he’ll take the minutes currently apportioned to Shaq.

To the outgoing list I’d add Firmino and Taki.
Last summer was when we needed some freshening up but the covid situation kept us from trimming some of the dead weight or being more ruthless in culling the herd.

The Ibrahima Konate to Liverpool story is hotting up, with the Reds now said to have agreed terms with Rb Leipzig’s Frenchman.

The Express have followed Anfield Central with the news that an £85k/w contract has been verbally agreed – although Liverpool now have to negotiate with the Bundesliga giants.

One report from The Athletic said he has a 34m buyout clause. Decent price if true.

Liverpool are ready to trigger their buy option in Ozan Kabak's loan contract after being impressed with his development in recent months.
    https://www.90min.com/posts/liverpool-ready-to-ozan-kabak-clause-exclusive

As part of the deal, Liverpool paid a fee of around £1.5m upfront and negotiated the option to make it permanent in the summer for an extra £18m. Sources have now confirmed to 90min that Liverpool fully intend to trigger that option.

After a rocky start to life at Anfield, Kabak has settled in and proven himself ready for a permanent spot in Jurgen Klopp's squad. The 21-year-old has made nine appearances in all competitions thus far and has impressed more and more with each passing week.

It is understood that Klopp has been delighted with Kabak's development and feels as though the Turkey international will only continue to get better with more minutes under his belt, and it has left Liverpool ready to pay up for Kabak now while they have the chance.

Because we've never seen him play? So we don't know if he is or is not ever going to be an option.

The fact he appears to be currently down the pecking order is not conclusive as Klopp has required a number of good players to bide their time before being given a debut.

Paris St-Germain have got in contact with Mohamed Salah's representatives to start talks about a summer move for Liverpool's 28-year-old Egypt forward.

Living in Paris and the cash stacks are nothing to sneeze at but from a footballing standpoint, I don't see why he would want to go there.

Reading James Pearce (or maybe Melissa Reddy?) and when talking about a clear out, the point was made that Klopp is rarely, if ever, in favor of letting players go who have the right attitude. With the right attitude, he reckons, he can always mould the player he wants for the position.

In that camp are AOC and Keita. Both unlikely to leave for footballing reasons; if a good offer comes in, even then, he's not likely to be moved.

Supposedly, if Salah were to leave, it'd only be for Spain.

Say what you will, PSG are not a European powerhouse with an incredible history. They're the very definition of plastic. Liverpool have more, a lot more, in this respect.

Interesting points about Klopp's player loyalty but what about players who are very injury prone? You can't correct that through coaching no matter how good the player's attitude is. Some players are just not physically cut out for the speed and intensity of this league.

as of today I'd agree, but I think Poch may be the missing link for them from a footballing perspective (i.e. the CL - the league is theirs every year).

Because he was an average Championship player that is already mid-20's. He's NEVER going to see the field in a meaningful game for us - and that includes the League Cup.

Liverpool have been urged to ‘steal’ the signing of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United by former forward Fabio Borini.
Would love to see him here but not at the price needed.

Liverpool are reportedly set to join the race to sign highly-rated Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham.
If we wanted him last year was the time to grab him.

Liverpool have reportedly inquired about Lazio centre-forward Joaquin Correa ahead of the summer transfer window. Correa is keen to move on from the Serie A side and Lazio are willing to accept half of his €80m release clause in order to let him leave.
Know nothing about him - he doesn't appear to be a real goalscorer.

Fiorentina are reportedy set to demand at least €40m for Dusan Vlahovic as Liverpool target the centre-forward ahead of the next transfer window.
    He's scoring goals at least.

Sadio Mane is attracting attention from Barcelona and the Merseyside club have already identified Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembélé as an ‘ideal’ candidate to replace the Senegal international in a swap deal.
I'd do this in a heartbeat if Salah is staying.

Liverpool could swoop for Andre Silva, his release clause is reportedly around £26m.
He's scoring for fun at Eintracht.

Following his recent performances for Porto, Liverpool's Marko Grujic is a target for several English and German teams. Such a transfer won't come cheap with Liverpool reportedly demanding €23 million for the player.
We could have used him on our books this year given the injuries we've suffered.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is not willing to cash in on Liverpool target Raphael Varane at the end of the season.
    Was never going to happen.

Villarreal manager Unai Emery has urged his defender Pau Torres to reject a move to the Premier League by claiming that he has to sign for Real Madrid or Barcelona. Torres has been linked with Manchester United and Liverpool previously.
Yeah, because they both have so much money to spend right now...

Ibrahima Konate has insisted he is not on the verge of joining Liverpool with the RB Leipzig defender adamant that he has had no contact with Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Thank god!!!!! I don't want another sicknote defender on our books. Why sign a player that is injury prone?

Manchester United and Liverpool’s plans to spaff their ill-gotten gains apparently involve Sevilla's Youssef En-Nesyri.

Liverpool will target Aston Villa's striker Ollie Watkins this summer to solve their goalscoring quandary.
