The Nadeshiko thread is already in the right place, I'm sure - it's one of the best things on the site. Its whole personality and popularity is that it's a Japan fans' thread above all. If it were just a "general soccer thread" about Japan among rival teams, it's...unlikely that it would be better, and it might make it a worse discussion, and I'd hate for it to be spoiled (e.g. Netherlands 2020 thread, now let us never speak of that again). Women's International covers a lot of topics in a little detail, threads are smaller - even our big Norway thread there took 5 years to match the last 1-year thread of Nadeshiko (you had 2,100 posts when the team was inactive in 51 weeks of the year, you're doing OK)! There's definitely an opportunity to talk more about Japan on the other forum, but I'd prefer to add something new and not take away from this thread. My idea would be to try out an 'international' thread on the first WE-League season, maybe with more coverage from a foreign perspective, and any other Japan news that is relevant overseas? Could that work?
Your Idea of adding instead of taking away seems great to me. Of course, I guess most of the discussion about WE League would still happen here. The "new" thread would only makes sense if it'd generate some interest among women's international followers, well beyond those who already post here. Incidentally, I think that this would most easily happen if some big or even average international players would come to Japan (I guess something like Beverly Yanez about a decade ago in Kobe could almost be enough, if it was multiplied for some more teams). Of course this is difficult, because Japan's league is really insulated (even in the literal sense of the word ), but, who knows, maybe professionalism could change that. After all Australia always had their fair share of US internationals, despite the distance (but it benefitted from common language/closer culture and especially of being an active league in NWSL off-season). Anyway, if you want to try such a thread when WE league starts, I guess it's an experiment that could be worth trying. And, although, most of us Nadeshiko fans would keep posting about our league here, I guess you could count on some of us giving their contribution, as long as the thread generates at least a miminum of interest from other international members.
Personally speaking the biggest added value an 'international' thread could give me is a way shorter overview of what's happening, results etc. (possibly with cross linking to the more verbose mentions and discussions here). These Nadeshiko threads are so active that whenever I can't keep up due to other obligations it's a lot of work to catch up. I'm sure others not as interested in following every detail can be intimidated by that as well. I'm a fan of e.g. your Women's football in the Middle East + mid-Asia thread @sbahnhof, succinct and infrequent updates about topics that I wouldn't really want to follow more closely but still are always interesting.
Off topic....Womens football England v Canada....live on BBC mainstream television (my my...how times have changed)
Very kind, thank you - it's the thread I'm proudest of. It was amazing to learn some of that stuff, and how much the players can really achieve. (I would post more often, but my Arabic isn't up to it.) Since then, I've started one on East Asian nations too.

Spoken as true Beleza fan (when commenting on INAC) But honestly last season of Nadeshiko League was quite heavy on 2 colors only. Green and red shirt were in excess. Some rainbow revolution in WE League this year should be nice change of pace.
Around 2,2 million, ~50k unique viewers in last 90 days. Good news. 10 pre-season matches of WE League will be free to watch. 1382933563314622465 is not a valid tweet id
Canada is almost sure to land in Japan's group from pot 3 I'd like Sweden or GB from pot 2 and Chile from pot 4. Nadeshiko need to win the group as team from 1A plays third team from other group in quarters - an easier path to medals. btw new ranking is up, Japan drop th 11th on account that Korea DPR is back in 10th (did not play for 25 months!)
Wow, so in the end the latest abysmal results came back to sting Australia and they lost their pot 2 status to Brazil! Impressive. Why the "almost" in "almost sure"? Is there any chance that a group with two Asian teams will be considered acceptable? Or maybe is it likely that someone can have a change of mind about Australia being "Asian"? Actually, if I think at WWC 2019, I'd tend to want to avoid GB. And I actually consider Chile the most dangerous team from pot 4: it doesn't matter if they qualified through play-off, it's a question of confederation: I consider a CONMEBOL team (remember Argentina at WWC 2019?) more dangerous than a CAF or OFC one. So, I disagree with @Lechus7 (doesn't happen very often ): I'd like Sweden/Brazil from pot 2 and New Zealand/Zambia from pot 4.
Brazil must be in Netherlands group because only one UEFA team in a group is allowed. Probability for Japan`s opponents: Pot 2: Sweden 50%, Great Britain 50% Pot 3: Canada 100% Pot 4: New Zealand 33,3%, Chile 33,3%, Zambia 33,3%
You're right, I had forgetten that the UEFA teams' restriction was somehow affecting Japan too. So, I'd say my ideal A Group would be: Japan, Sweden, Canada, Zambia. They would say it can't happen, because USA always get Sweden at group stage!
...which would mirror London 2012 OG with Zambia double for South Africa Japan vs. Commonwealth (GB, CAN, NZ) still on the cards
