Say no more. No player has scored more Premier League goals than Jesse Lingard [7] since he made his West Ham debut. What a hit! 😍 pic.twitter.com/lcKjmZEd5i— Statman Dave (@StatmanDave) April 11, 2021
He really should stay there for his own sake, especially if he can help them qualify for the CL next season.
agreed. he's been a good servant. let him go flourish somewhere else now. no point coming back here to be a sometimes sub
2 more goals and a secondary assist, if we count those. He has been like their Bruno since he arrived. Murtogh better pick up the phone and tell them 30 mill now. You let this get to the end of the season and the price goes up. Or give us Rice and we call it fair.
Murtogh better pick up the phone and tell them give us Diop/Ogbonna & Rice plus 10M for another loan next year.
Pretty much the bottom line when it comes to our handling of Jesse ahead of this summer. 1381244215502512133 is not a valid tweet id
I mean I thought the fresh start would do him good and he would find some form but I dont think anyone saw this coming. But what do you lads think is fair? Like what other CM is producing like him in this half season? Is he now in the 40-50 pounds range? If we dont sell him to Hammers who else has a good style that would be a good fit for him and pay our price?
Jesse would be a good fit at Bayern as a squad player (Muller isn't getting younger), at Spurs, LC, Newcastle, Norwich and Liverpool. I think he'd also fit BVB, RBL and Roma but I don't forsee them spending the money to buy him. We won't sell him to Liverpool, Spurs or Leicester. Bayern probably wont buy spend more than 20M because they can just poach a younger talent from any German team. That leaves Newcastle and Norwich. Newcastle won't spend the money I don't think but if they want to play low block counter attacking football and they want someone to complement Callum Wilson and ASM in attack, they could hardly do any better than Jesse. Jesse is technical enough to work well with ASM and his movement will make space for CW. I think it would work like gangbusters. Norwich though makes the most sense as he could be a makeweight for Buendia. *dons muppet cape* Norwich will also be light a midfield organizer and we could send them Garner on loan and maybe Hannibal as well. If Norwich replaced Buendia (their best player probably) with Garner, Hannibal and Lingard even if they only have the former two for 1 season, they add depth to a squad that was devoid of it last time up. Hannibal probably isn't ready to start games for them right now, but as an impact sub either at AM or LM, he'd be fine until he grows into the league. Hannibal and Garner would both benefit from playing in their set up. It would be a much better loan than sending them to someone who plays negative football. The benefit for having Jesse there as a big brother would be great too. ***Jesse's fit at Norwich isn't as good as Newcastle or even LC or Spurs, but he replaces what Norwich lose from Buendia in terms of pressing and pressures and a little of the creativity and goal out put as well.
They're all coming for him... Jesse Lingard has been linked with PSG, Inter Milan and Real Madrid 😳 #mufc https://t.co/DkhIoOQUy7 pic.twitter.com/gOriubKJPV— Man United News (@ManUtdMEN) April 12, 2021 WH will certainly have every opportunity to keep him permanently but Lingard will have suitorS vying for his services. Guessing they'll mostly be within the Prem but at the rate he's going, who really knows also?
Hopefully he doesn’t shoot too high and end up a bench-warmer - he needs to go somewhere he gets regular minutes or I see it working out similarly to how he played for us.
Madrid and PSG are absolutely not after Jesse Lingard. His agent is just trying to drum up interest. I think Inter is a stretch even before considering they still owe a shit ton to us for Lukaku.
Lingz making his point at WH In the 2020/21 Premier League, Jesse Lingard has been directly involved in a goal every 72.5 minutes, the fastest rate in the competition.Incredible output. ⚒️ pic.twitter.com/IXoaXQnfrE— Statman Dave (@StatmanDave) April 14, 2021 Even more so than his G/A total since he joined WH, this is just very impressive: how much longer can he keep this up? Ever? Not so sure about that: at United alone the season CRon totaled 42 goals is but one and obvious example of a player who really kicked on from January on and consistently performed at an incredible level (and putting up sick numbers). Prem wide, there are other examples of players who really stepped it up in the 2nd half, as we approached the business end of the season.
if this is purely output based off the top of my head: Sturridge had a better half season. Aubameyang had a better half season. Hernández possibly had a better half season (was with us for all of it though) to win the title depending on where West Ham finish Christophe Duggary will have had a more important half season. there may be one or two more

A lot will depend on how well West Ham finish the season. If they beat Chelsea, then they should finish in the top four. Lampard will be rooting for them.

Yes, they had a brief piece in The Athletic today talking about his depression early in the season, how he's worked through it, and how this has factored into his play this season. Good for him, I hope he continues to flourish no matter where he is. If it really is all down to his mental state before and after - and I have every reason to believe it is - then you can see him continuing this free flowing, positive play. But I'm still not sure it means he should stay at United. First, we don't know how much of his depression was triggered by his lack of playing time (versus his lack of playing time being the result of his depression). If he comes back and isn't a full time starter here, does it affect him. Second, are bridges burned here? Third - and most important - I'm not sure where he fits into this side. While you can argue that a manager's job is to find a way to get a player of (this) Lingard's caliber onto the field, that's easier said than done given the others involved. It may be one of those situations - especially because we're not sure if it is a long term turnaround - where we sell high and truly wish him the best (except when he's playing United).
