Yes the potential is still there for him and he is still relatively young. It's all psychological with himand if he can get past that barrier then he would be one of the best CBs in the game today.
#BVB - Spoke to Mino Raiola. He says on Erling Haaland: ‘I can confirm that I’ve been in Dortmund. Michael Zorc made very clear that they don’t want to sell Erling. I respect it but it doesn’t mean that I agree. There is no war between me and BVB.” @SPORT1 https://t.co/y1SnTS6Gs6— Patrick Berger (@berger_pj) April 12, 2021
So hopefully no more throwing chairs from Raiola this time. Don’t understand the club’s strategy, on one hand try everything to keep the best players but on the other totally ******** up on the coaching front. This team should in no way be missing the CL.
I don't get it either. Why bother holding on to all these very talented players and then hire mid-level managers?
I think the club make a big mistake when going for coaches. They need to realise that Dortmund are the second best team in Germany and when most teams play us, they park the bus and plan to hit on the counter. We need to be looking at mangers that can set the team up to dominate games. I would much rather give the likes of Farke and Potter, who do this regularly a chance than counter and attacking managers like Favre.
He is the manager of Brighton. A team I really really hate, but he has them playing excellent football.
He learnt to speak pretty good Swedish, so I would imagine he could learn German as imo it’s slightly easier. This whole German speaking policy is nonsense imo, in the globalised football world most clubs have many foreign players and coaches, just hire a tutor and an interpreter and there is no problem. Look at Bielsa at Leeds, hardly speaks any English but still doing an incredible job. It can work.
Well, it looks like club management have finally decided to make the signing of a new goalkeeper a priority. Took them long enough.
The real reason Haaland is in Dortmund : "There were of course a couple of clubs involved, but at the same time I did not know too much about this," he told VG, per The Sun. "But it was I who first mentioned Dortmund to my father [Alf Inge Haaland]. "We were sitting at home in Salzburg and watching a game Dortmund played, and I said to him, 'Oh, look at that wall behind the goal. There had been something to play there.' ----------- So has long as he likes it here I believe we have chance of keeping him... Now we need covid to end to give him that yellow wall he likes !!!
GK is by far the weakest area of the team. It is well overdue to strengthen that area. Haaland might stay one more year to play in front of the yellow wall I think, although the chances of that will be much higher if the team can catch Wolfsburg. The next two (home) matches are crucial, 6 points from Werder and Union whilst Wolfsburg face Bayern (H) and Stuttgart (A) will mean the match in Wolfsburg the following weekend could become huge.
As things stand we have three areas of the squad that need improving as I said in the match day thread. GK CM RB In an ideal world we sign Guendouzi and a good GK. For right back we need to hope Morey develops. However, unless we make the CL and sell Sancho we Will have no money
Reports that Chelsea might go in big for Bellingham. It seems 50-60 million was me under selling his market value. It's more likely we get bids for around 70 million. If Pogba leaves United, there could be a huge bidding war for him.
£100m being mentioned! Difficult to tell if this is bs, but if Chelsea are willing to pay anywhere near that the club should snap their arm off. That money can be used to strengthen the team significantly in the weaker areas.
100 million is BS, but there is a good chance we could get 65 million, especially if Pogba were to go. I would definitely span their arms off for it. Chelsea today, showed how quality midfields and teams face City. You don't park the bus and defend desperately, but you match them in possession. If we could raise money by selling Bellingham, then we could complete our squad and bring in a higher quality player. In GK- 15 million Hakimi - 30 million Guendouzi - 15 million Out Delaney - 10 million Bellingham 55 million Burki - 10 million Meunier - 5 million That's a realistic, but perfect summer and would leave us complete for next season.
Hakimi has been a big loss, nothing against Morey who has done pretty well and has potential, or Knauff who is still very inexperienced, but can you imagine how much better the team could have looked v City if Hakimi and Sancho had been playing down the right? Would 30m get him though, Inter paid 40m last summer I think?
Morey has done OK, but he just is not at the top level. I think he is a good back up. I really like Knauff too and he has great potential. I fully agree City attacked down our right, but they would have been incredibly frightened had we Sancho and Hakimi. Inter appear to be in some financial difficulty with their owners losing a lot of money. It's worth keeping an eye on that, but if they are forced to sell then I think 30 million would do it, but we will see. Inter are about to win the Scudetto.
BVB and Dahoud are open to an extension, but no talks yet. Unsere Story 👇🏼https://t.co/mtvOkbrZrx— Patrick Berger (@berger_pj) April 24, 2021
We need to extend Dahoud as quickly as possible. Then we need to extend Zagadou. Sadly I guess he is waiting to see if we make top 4 or not.
Yes I think this summer. What is a best case window. OUT Burki Meunier Delaney Sancho In GK RB DCM RW Maybe try to get Hakimi back for right back. Not sure about the keeper. Not sure about the winger either, but Bissouma or Guendouzi would be perfect for CDM. I think we can raise 100 million Euros this summer. If we can maybe spend 60-65 million Euros and then use the rest to pay off debts.
