personal ugh for me, as losing ESPN+ access is annoying

casting to the TV is never near as good as the native app

never had great consistency with an antenna and getting it to the window requires some unsightly long cords -- I guess I'll just go back to paying $5/month for the Locast app to get WGN access

Too bad. ESPN+ started a bit rough, has really improved. I was fine streaming the games on my tv.

Don't like trying to mirror from my laptop, but I will figure it out.

Well this doesn’t flat out suck but it is a bit cumbersome. I love that the team is on WGN, obviously- going to a bar and saying “hey can you please put on channel 9” is going to be a lot more straightforward than “do you have ESPN+. No, no, not ESPN, I know you have that, but ESPN+. Well, it’s an app, see and you have to- ah ******** it I’ll watch at home thanks” as it’s been the past few years.

Still, I was hoping ESPN+ would supplement the WGN broadcast because I’m a cord cutter and I don’t want to have to cast from my iPhone/laptop/iPad and would prefer not to waste any cash on even the cheapest antenna available just to watch shitty soccer.

Oh well tho- I’ll be at quite a few home games, figure something out for the other games and enjoy next-day rewatches on ESPN+. It could be better, but it could be a lot worse.

as I mentioned earlier, I used to pay $5/month for the ad-free version of Locast, which they have on Roku and gets all local channels -- I stopped when I got YTTV, but I split that with my dad and the account is NC-based

long lead-in to say if you're a Roku user (and probably on other platforms), Locast is a good option if you want WGN and don't mind paying $5 -- worth it to me to get the better quality picture for the away games

I think the ESPN+ is a League deal & that the games will still be available on it. This seems to be an attempt to satiate those who didn't want to pay for ESPN+ & couldn't get WGN to watch their home team for free.

Hauptman/Nimrod have just trained us to see & assume the worst with this club, but they're gone now. It's ok to be happy, or at least content, with things the Club does...you know, like we used to be?

The games will be blacked out based on how it has worked previously. The Fire had a separate deal with ESPN+ for local rights from 2018-2020 that resulted in ESPN+ essentially being their local broadcast partner. With ESPN+, as with MLS Direct Kick before it, locally available games are blacked out until the next day to ensure the local broadcast partners aren't being undercut by the league deal.

Being outside of Chicago, all of the games will still be on ESPN+, according to the official announcement.

Plus, a whole season watching games without Danhole Kelly on the mic.

Also, no Frank "I'll tell you what" Klopas having to play second fiddle to the douche in the booth.

I am good with this arrangement.

OK questions arise... Now that I'm no longer in the 60513 zip code but the 42420 zip code is my best option to re-up on ESPN+ to watch as many Fire matches as possible OR can I just log into the Fire website and watch on my laptop? It's saying that locals are in but people from elsewhere are not able to stream?

Definitely will need ESPN+ if you're out of market.

Hey, congrats (I hope) on the move to Colorado.
Admit it, you just wanted to be closer to Lauren Boebert!

Could the app be loaded on an android TV or something or have chrome cast support?

Unfortunately, it's for health reasons to move in with family. Anything to do with Boebert I would not post.

    Sorry about the health issues.

As for Boebert, what happens in Colorado stays in Colorado....

Edit: What am I saying? Boebert has infested Washington and all of the nation.
