on a less happy note, it seems like konrad was given this year to establish his future at barca and instead disappointed with the barca b?

I don't think he's disappointed with B as much as not impressed enough to push out the likes of messi, dembele, fati, etc... There was a part earlier with a quote from the B team coach that suggested he has impressed with the B team IIRC.

Has he though? Impressed in preseason, made bench often while playing b team games like once a month, then starts becoming a b team regular and st that time starts putting up production

Like 99.99 percent of pro soccer players, he's not Barca quality. But I think most people here who know how to evaluate players already knew that. The real disappointment was that he stayed at Barca this season in the first place when he had other suitors, but Barca put him in a tough position in that regard by threatening to freeze him out if he didn't sign an extension.

^^ This. In spades. My only addendum would be the deal was made pre-Koeman. There have been numerous opportunities to sub in Konrad where Koeman always opted for a mediocre Trincao or someone else. KDLF demonstrated in the UCL he could’ve been a credible option off the bench for a well under standard quality Barça. This club desperately needs new leadership and I’m not even a FCB fan.

Idk if he really demonstrated much during those garbage time games. Barca is still just a point from winning La Liga, they ain’t that bad.

He was active and at times dangerous in his 28 minutes over two UCL appearances. Could have had at least one assist. Many Barça fans have wanted to see more of him.

Yeah I know but its still just 28 minutes of garbage time. Koeman sees him every week. And I don't think you can extrapolate Barca's mismanagement to his lack of playing time this season. I've been watching Barca frequently in the last couple months, and it is clear that the attacking players they have been playing are much better than Konrad. It would be a very bad call to put him ahead of any of them if you are trying to win La Liga. To be sure, it would have been nice to throw him in a few blowouts to give him a chance, but I can't say that not playing him is any type of error for the coach trying to win games.

A player his age, if they're Barca quality, needs to absolutely dominate at the Barca B level week in and week out. While he's had flashes and individual games where he's looked like he played well, it doesn't appear at all that he's a dominant player at that level.

You may be the only fútbol fan alive who doesn’t think the club is mismanaged.

I didn’t mean to say that the club isn’t mismanaged; I meant to say that mismanagement isn’t the reason Konrad didn’t play.

Widely reported as one of the dirtiest and worst officiated matches in memory (by Barça fans). FCB lost 2-1. Both Ibiza goals from corners.

Nah I think he's good enough to play somewhere in La Liga or Germany. Just not Barca.
