Home tie for TFC will now be in a foreign country with local temperatures and humidity closer to Mexico than Canada.
Great set of results so far. I finally saw the tackle that ended the Saprissa-Union game; that's a horror tackle and completely cynical to boot. There ought not be an easier red card call than that one, but it was yellow. That's not the Union being Concacafed, it's worse.
I've seen worse tackles in MLS games go unpunished. A Shane O'Neil hachet job on Danny Cruz being one.....Cruz left the game injured too.
Glad to finally be participating in a tournament I’ve been watching for years. Even happier about getting a win in the away leg.
Especially bad because it's the first leg of the series. Saprissa will now have him available in the return leg, when by all rights they shouldn't.

Going quite well for MLS teams so far. I’d expect Philly, Portland, and Atlanta to win or tie at home. Toronto was very lucky not to have conceded 2-3 additional goals. Even with the away goal advantage I think Leon still has the edge here but hopefully I’m wrong.
I agree with this. Leon was just a different level. I thought TFC would just completely collapse under the pressure and altitude but full credit for hanging in there. I would think Leon is the one to advance but who knows.
Leon does have an edge but I'd like to see what TFC can do with Pozuelo and Osorio in the line up (aside from some of the other missing starters).
Oh, you can't dangle that out there without a link to a clip of it. I can't think of a tackle that bad by O'Neill.

Have you guys seen this person's work on Concacaff? https://getconcacafed.substack.com/p/-the-nicaraguan-nagelsmann-prepares He writes a nice newsletter about the region (qualifying, CCL, etc.) might be worth your attention. I only just learned of it so that is why I share. I enjoy reading his work.
Yep, that was pretty bad and a clear red. Maybe not quite as bad as last night though. And another fix the new MLS site needs, years along side the date on things like that.
Real Esteli coach is 24(!) years old. 🇳🇮 Holver Flores is 24, but with a UEFA A license, domestic titles & a taste of Concacaf League success, the young Real Estelí manager has shown he belongs. Now he faces a #CCL match with the reigning MLS Cup champ.More on the "Nicaraguan Nagelsmann": https://t.co/YgSGzJbKwd pic.twitter.com/1yp8U9uB4H— Jon Arnold (@ArnoldcommaJon) April 8, 2021
I was just about to say that a lot is happening and nothing is happening at the same time, then Gyasi had to go and ruin it.
So all 5 games in which MLS teams were a part were played on the road -- and in all 5, the MLS team has gotten an away goal. That, in and of itself, is a step in the right direction. Usually, you would see MLS teams go on the road and not even start playing like they wanted to score until AFTER they gave up a goal. Foolish, of course, when playing with an away goal rule. So again, very nice to see that MLS teams are playing with more urgency to get that road goal and put the opponent under pressure. 0-2.
