#DCU NEWS: multiple sources tell @samstejskal & I that goalkeeper Bill Hamid, who was getting close to participating fully in training, suffered a calf injury several days ago and is out 4-6 weeks. Club declined to comment.— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) April 5, 2021
I got half season tickets through the Eagles in 2005. Went full season in 2007. Went to the quiet side in 2011 or 12 I think. My selection time is 10 AM tomorrow.
Thanks. My partner and I have each had single tickets next to each other for 21 years after joining with a big group in RFK upper deck 410, but since the move to Evil Bank Stadium, the team has refused to give us the same ticket rep, or to link our accounts in any way. I've glad they've at least been transparent about factoring in more than seniority on these NYCFC seat offerings. I don't have very high hopes for what will be left on Wednesday.
With only 2,000 seats available, I figure I’ll take what I can get. But, I expect capacity to increase as we move forward. The Texas Rangers just had a sold out opening day. I’d be fine with that, personally. But, I’m fully vaccinated at this point, so YMMV.
Getting tickets today right at 10 AM was painless. I could practically gotten my usual seats in my usual section (106), but decided to try out a slightly different view from the section instead. The seats looked incredibly spread out on the Ticketmaster site when looking around the stadium during my seat selection. With the massive rows, looks like they're limiting pods to 3 or so per row.
Thanks. A friend of mine and I are making it a doubleheader with the Nationals, as we have tickets for their game that afternoon.
Just got mine as well. If you try to get 3 seats in a pod, very limited selection. I went back down to 2 and it was better. Even though the seats in my section were "available" (marked in blue), they were gone by the time I clicked. Moved over one section towards the south goal. @pr0ner is right, there are just a few pods in each row. It will be strange. Since I'm not under the roof, I hope it doesn't rain.
I cant login (successfully reset password but think acct is locked after too many attempts). Phone number to call goes directly to error message (all lines are busy) and no-one is answering their direct lines, no response to emails. STM since '97 - selection time was today at 12. I suspect wont be anything left when I get my acct unlocked). ETA: Rep called me back! I was using wrong email address. gotta give credit where its due - they did a good job on this and still relatively decent selection of seats available.
Took a little effort, and my ticket rep needed to go in the system, but got four tickets in our usual section. Very excited.
It'll definitely be strange, but I remember going to some CONCACAF Champions League pool games where RFK only had a couple thousand fans in attendance. It won't be a totally alien experience.
Outside of a couple sections (like C5 right behind the benches, or the in the field levels), there are pods in either the first or second rows. A lot of them are already spoken for the 17th, though.
at 2:15 there 456 seats left - little less than 25% - so not exactly flying off the shelves as I thought they would, particularly for the opener. Breakdown: 44 W, 94 S, 46 E, 245 Club, 27 Field. I didnt see any availability in the SG sections.
Since some STH's can't make selections til tomorrow, perhaps it's simply spreading everyone who can buy tickets out over a couple of days.
Also, here's a thread from Charles Boehm on a Hernan Losada media availability today. Seems like quite a few players didn't come into training camp as fit as they should be, so it's highly unlikely the team will be 90-minutes fit to implement his style come April 17. Seems as though the team is closer to 65 minutes fit than 90. DC United head coach Hernan Losada currently taking part in his first media avail in a while. On #DCU's prep: "I don't believe that from the physical point of view we will be ready for the 17th of April [season opener] but we improve a lot comparing with where we come in from"— Charles Boehm (@cboehm) April 6, 2021
Well, I appreciate him being straightforward with us. Also, it seems pretty irresponsible if some showed up with more than the standard off-season fitness issues (i.e. not physically ready for camp). There's a new coach, new system, and everyone is scrambling to prove themselves (or should be). I'm sure Losada has noted who wasn't ready.
Not completely surprising that they're not fit, but the moment he was hired everyone had to know how demanding his tactics were going to be. I remember posting about it in other threads. Marcelo Bielsa has "murder ball" sessions that typically have players throwing up in the middle of practice. This goes on all season long.
