Yeah, my bet is that he goes to a pretty big EPL team and then gets loaned out to the Championship/Belgium/Holland. I think it would have been better for his development to go for, say, $8 million directly to a good Belgian/Dutch/lower Bundesliga team, but like others have said, that ship has sailed.

Sounds like a job for the cash drunk EPL.

Not really going out on a limb here but I think enough EPL scouts and other champ sides have seen enough of Dike at this point to know what they're investing in.

I think Dike will be in the EPL next year. I think his skill set will translate well to any league though

Sure, which is amazing considering all the calls he doesn't get. Weak penalty though.

It's not a big sample, but it's across 2 different seasons and leagues. Also a little bit of a senior int'l sample now. For a big club or even maybe mid tier EPL one it's not that significant of a risk anymore. After his MLS half season they were already willing to pony up near $10m Euros. They did near that for Reynolds at much less of a premium position.

But I think with Barnsley they can't necessarily afford any risk period. It wouldn't have to be a case of him not translating to the EPL if they were promoted. What if he suffered a catastrophic injury? They lose out on 20 million Euros & could go tumbling down tiers for yrs ala Sunderland. He could also keep them up for a season & get sold for a 10+ million Euro profit which would make him an economic boon and provide them more stability atop the English pyramid. It would be a matter of how much stomach they had & luck in the end from an educated guess.

He's already conquering this MLS/Championship level. It would stunt development to spend any more time there.

He shouldn't go anywhere that would loan him ideally. If you have to be a backup while playing in Cups, during fixture congestion, and off the bench then do that. It's sufficient reps, while always having the promise to expand your role with success. Plus he could actually play football not head tennis there. He's shown he's more capable with Orlando & the NT.

If he's loaned it should be to a non bottom of the table top 5 team. They already want him on an FT & would love a guy like him even if for a season. Outside a top 5 league they better be entrenched in European play for those higher-level reps.

The thing I love about Dike....... the dude has so much room to grow but you don't look at him like a project. You look at him and say "shit... if he makes this little improvement, he could be unstoppable" I can't wait to see him rise to the challenge when full stadiums are back. Think about it, in his short professional career, he has very few matches with a "live audience". He hasn't had pressure of crowds and/or that energy of the fans. He seems like that guy who would be further energized with a crowd.

LOL at B side... What does he need to do? He is a physical specimen and there are only a handful of CB's in the world that he won't dominate physically.

His game translates to any level. He is a target capable of holding up play, he is a fox in the box, he has a pretty good shot on him and is always active. I don't think there are many non-champions league teams that he doesn't walk into right now.

This guy is a BEAST, during the course of his career he is going to cause game plan headaches for opposing teams.

I agree. He seems to be the type that feeds off others. I love his attitude, he enjoys what he is doing even if he himself takes a beating.

    4 months ago.... $20 million? That’s a little high.

April 5, 2021? Yeah, you need to meet that asking price.

All of them were 'ship goals and he could of had a couple more if you included the PK he missed and one or two other decent chances.

That makes little sense, especially for a 21 y/o(in Oct) attacking player. Big teams play many games. At worst he'll get subs minutes, cup matches, spot starts.

It's like he was created in a laboratory with the sole purpose of getting points on the road in Central American countries.

Yeah at this point I don’t think going to one of those leagues would be helpful.

I just hope to see him on a club where he has an opportunity to earn the starting job. I think he could play a big role for a club like burnley. I just don’t want him riding the bench consistently. He needs PT. Even Leicester wouldn’t be a bad spot, as I doubt Vardy will be starting for them for much longer.
