Yeah that’s a no for me on Neymar. That ship as sailed imo. The last thing we need right now is a 30-year-old injury prone player on a huge wage. We already have an injury prone player who we paid a massive amount for. Only this one is much younger. We have to spend smartly this time around. As much as I LOVED Neymar when he was here this isn’t the move we should be making.
The Valladolid match tomorrow is a huge opportunity toward claiming a title we had no business aspiring for a few months ago. Then again, this game is a huge potential banana peel: after a FIFA break, on the road, on a Monday, against a relegation-threatened side... Koeman better focus the lads, and the Atleti loss should already be plenty motivation.
Get in there Sevilla, one of the few times I actually cheered for them this season. They missed a penalty too. Don’t care what happens to Sevilla from his point on though, the scum. Anyway, we somehow managed to get to the point of having our destiny in our own hands. If we win all of our remaining matches then we win the league. Of course we’d still have to beat Madrid and Atletico along the way... It must be said that this is a bottle-jon of epic proportions by Atletico. I’m loving every second of it.
Atletico dropped seven points in first half of season (19 games). They've dropped 14 points in 10 games since. Madrid now within three of them & Barça can cut the gap to one if they beat Valladolid tomo— Samuel Marsden (@samuelmarsden) April 4, 2021
I feel the Monday kickoff will help with the international players having more time to rest and get back on 'club' focus. One of the 'benefits of getting knocked out of the Champions League, I suppose.
Full video of the racist incident leading to Valencia walking of the pitch: https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/mk1yiq/valencia_players_walk_off_the_pitch_after_alleged/
I think some others on the pitch heard what he said, even teammates, and are not surprised either. If he said what is alleged I hope others can confirm it and he faces a significant penalty. Not holding my breath though.
Supposedly you can hear the insult in this audio clip: Vídeo de un canal británico.
The board just spent on luxury sigining than what the team wanted. Valverde never wanted Coutinho in the first play (we aimed for Verrati) then ended up buying him for nothing. Dembele also, too much wasted money.
Sport now has video with the incident captured but not playable in U.S.A. https://www.sport.es/en/news/laliga...ult-negro-de-mierda-you-going-to-cry-11637532 In the international broadcast of Cadiz's win over Valencia at the weekend, in which Juan Cala allegedly racially abused Mouctar Diakhaby, you can clearly hear: "Negro de mierda, ¿vas a llorar?" (Black shit, are you going to cry?). Until now, the content of what the Cadiz player had said had not come out. Cala, meanwhile, said on Sunday that "it appears the presumption of innocence doesn't exist in this country." Valencia, through their president, have said they will not let the issue lie and added: "We will fight until the very end against racism." Cala's insult saw the Valencia players leave the pitch in Cadiz after half an hour of the game. They eventually returned, although Diakhaby was taken off and watched the game from the stands. At half-time, Cadiz also took Cala off.
Real Madrid now said to miss CBs Varane (new COVID diagnosis) and Ramos (injured on International duty), FB Carvajal and oft-injured Hazard for both Liverpool and Clasico and possibly Liverpool return legs. Leaving them with Nacho and Militao at CB. I could feel bad for them but then I've seen us missing CBs Pique, Araujo, and Umtiti for much of the season, playing midfielders (de Jong) or B teamers (Mingueza) next to Lenglet. Plus there's this memory: And Varane without Ramos by his side is often worse than Lenglet without Pique (or at least Araujo) by his side, so not sure how much his absence hurts them.
Why close? Some interesting lineup choices by Klopp. No Firmino or Thiago in the starting XI. I must say I haven't seen Firmino's name on many scoresheets recently. Mane also seems to be in a real slump. But they may be licking their chops at that Madrid back 4.
So they still have their return tie next week to worry about . I know they will give it their all against us ... but still .
