Now that I'm down the road a ways I went and caught Evansville Aces v. Loyola Ramblers. It was mostly sloppy but the gist was Evansville dominated the first half despite giving one up against the run of play and then Loyola more or less took over in the second half and scored on what looked like a cross/shot/shoss/crot to win 2-0. Whomever that #8 Registra is for Loyola was my man of the match. He did all the little things well. https://loyolaramblers.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/giann-magno/1474
It's warm...nice and warm. We had that ice storm here that hit Texas but other than that 2 week blowout it was warm enough for me to work outside through most of January and then after the single digit cold bounced back to 40's and 50's and several days up to 65-70 now trees are budding and things are beginning to sprout out of the ground. Other than that I haven't explored much...just working on the next fixer upper. Thanks for asking. Will be back April 2 to play Fitzgerald's patio and do some small carpentry jobs. EDIT: I had to jump back in to mention the "spring peepers", not perverts looking in windows but frogs. "Chorus Frogs." Thousands and thousands of them in the marshlands next to the Ohio river declaring it was spring. They emerged one 70 degree day and I've never heard anything so loud and magical. Sounded exactly like this.
I forgot to ask. Will the "Chorus Frogs" be the backing band at Fitzgerald's? That would be awesome. From what I remember about Fitzgerald's there were a fair number of "spring peepers" there back on the day.
Sort of watching Czech Republic v. Belgium while building a frame for one of my partner's paintings (one she owns, not one she painted) Czech are holding their own
Just watched former red stars player Sam Kerr score 2 goals as Chelsea beat Aston villa 2-0 in a English league womens game.
Getting ready for US vs Northern Ireland at the top of the hour. Later today US vs Honduras in semi-final of Olympic qualifying. If they win, US plays the winner of Mexico - Canada in the final. Winning the semi-final assures a place in the Olympics.
Some of our Polish friends made a surprise visit today...just in time for the Poland v. Andorra tilt.
I have a Melbourne Victory jersey from a trip to Australia a couple of years ago (back when we could travel).
super league is super lame and possibly good for MLS if fans are put out by the cash grab and/or there are any consequences with teeth re: ban from FIFA participation
In the EPL (which sucks) Liverpool saves their season (at least their Champions League chances) with a 95th minute goal off of a corner by Liverpool 'keeper Allison. A beautiful header by Allison. Unbelievable finish to a game where Liverpool dominated but could not find the back of the net. The in-studio crew were like "Ugh, this never works" (plus it leaves the goal empty for a possible WBA winner). Only the 6th goal scored by a goalkeeper in the (sucky) EPL. Also, first goal scored by a Liverpool goalkeeper in a competitive match, going all the way back to 1892. One of the greatest examples ever of "Something stupid will happen."
