Correct, but like Azcona, I think he'll play for us, if he's good enough. Puerto Rico is irrelevant in international football. If you want to have a big international career, it's going to be hard to have one for Puerto Rico.

I couldn't find any info on Timchenko. The rest of the newer names listed as academy players are 02's or 03's.
I thought he was a citizen a long time ago. That would explain why he wasn't with the youth teams & didn't get accompanying hype, in spite of his name + talent.
Not sure how many people care anymore, but Andrew Carleton posted on his IG that he was in Europe, presumably for a trail or something. No idea where he is. His agent was trying to find somewhere for him in Europe last month.— MLS Buzz (@MLS_Buzz) March 23, 2021 Slavia Prague and Lazio bidding war incoming

For some reason I'm really pulling for him since so many have tried to kick him when he's down. I think some was deserved but it went too far for me.

#NYCFC has scored 4 goals in 3 preseason matches (with a half to go vs. #Crew96 tonight) - HG Andres Jasson has been in on 3 of those goals (the other was an own goal). He drew two penalties vs. Orlando & and an assist tonight.#MLS @MLS https://t.co/oCv0OvVH83— Glenn Crooks (@GlennCrooks) March 24, 2021
Going back to this. I do think Tayvon Gray has the potential to be Tyler Adams 2.0. After his Nike Friendlies performance at the 6 I don’t know why that wasn’t made his permanent position
It seems more and more like Mauricio Cuevas is looking more likely to stay and sign with LA Galaxy. This is really unexpected for two reasons: 1. Julian Araujo is there and looks to be their starting right back this season and given the #2 jersey 2. Gary Kleiban is his agent who we all know doesn’t have the best rapport with the Galaxy
I think there’s a good chance that Araujo is sold to Europe in January, then Cuevas takes over RB in ‘21. Plus, Araujo could be away at a tournament this summer and Cuevas has also shown with G2 that he can play LB if needed.
Maybe on the defensive side of the ball, but I think you are either underrating Adam's or overrating Gray's technical ability.

I know that MLS clubs hate to relinquish any control over players, so this won’t happen, but what about once an academy player turns 18 they can sign with any club in MLS on a homegrown deal? We need to find ways to maximize player development. Once a player steps foot on a college campus, they are hurting their development. Some will still emerge from college soccer, but we want as many as possible with a pro pathway before they get to college. There would surely be a few who’d sign contracts with other teams once they turned 18, and their rights were no longer controlled by one team.
He's a player who got really screwed by the COVID-era restrictions on movement between the first and second teams. In another universe, he would have at least logged a lot of minutes for Los Dos.
It was like a early Berhalter USMNT 4-2-3-1. In the attack, Villafana pushed more forward and Neal would pinch into a more RCB role.
