Steven Goff said Rodney Wallace is out, the team isn't going to offer him a contract. Najar is still with the squad. They'll probably offer him a contract.
For what it's worth, here are his Football Manager attributes. I read in The Athletic that many MLS squads actually use FM as a scouting tool (scary).
Well not a "hairy chested Bulgarian" in the Ray Hudson mold, but 7 goals in the last 5 matches would indicate some ability to score. Put him up top with the Estonian Messi so that DCU would have the most obscure forward tandem in the league.
Robertha is a low seven-figure transfer acquisition. He is not a designated player for dcu.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) March 23, 2021
Is there a TV contract this year. The "official" DCU website shows the away game at NE on 4/24, but there is no TV indication. Are we back to streaming from the DCU website or doing the ESPN+/VPN shuffle again? Given that ESPN is picking up the NHL next year and is part of the new NFL (National Fondling League) package, they may actually begin to crack down on VPN work arounds.
I believe so far a broadcast deal/arrangement has not been announced. I suspect the significant issue is that heretofore there has been a "limited" national deal with the league and then each of the teams made their own deals for remaining games over various number of years whereas now the league is in the process of negotiating for a new national deal to cover most games and teams have been told over the last couple of years to not enter into any long-term broadcast deals (league was not very happy DCU made a deal with Flo-tastic.
Kamara will definitely perform better if we get a proper midfield sorted out and also pair him with another competent striker. OR, Kamara is gone and we don't even know it yet! (my preference, but backup Kamara is fine)
I'm sure they'll wind up on WJLA 24/7 or whatever Newschannel 8 is currently calling themselves again locally.
The league was in line behind most of us here with that complaint I know I might be in the minority here, but this is better for me than ANY possible streaming option, I can actually watch Ch 8. Though that being said, they (ABC) didn't try very hard to build a quality product and seemed to let Dave Johnson do all the hard work with little support. And no, I'm not talking about SD vs. HD, I could not care less about that - just the poor infrastructure they seemed to have in the "studio". Nice to see news/rumors on players finally starting to show up now that we're into pre-season
Both Flo and news channel 8 exclude a large percentage of the fan base that wants to watch. People who stream don’t want to watch games on dot com and those who have traditional don’t want to stream. A major sports team that can’t figure out a TV deal takes a special level of incompetence.
The Athletic is not the first outlet to write about this. I've seen stories on it in the past and a quick Google didn't turn them unfortunatly.

Only one DCU match is scheduled to appear on national TV, Sept. 18 at Atlanta on Univision. The others are slated for WJLA 24/7 News or, in some possible cases, ABC-7. United’s website will stream every match free of charge, though availability is limited to the D.C. region.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) March 24, 2021
Got the e-mail regarding how seat selection will work while capacity is limited. Don't really understand it, so e-mailed my ticket rep for clarification. Wonder if he knows?
What does it say? Here is LAFC's: LAFC’s goal is to ensure a process where all members have a fair opportunity to attend as many matches in 2021 as possible, subject to capacity limitations. Members will be selected to attend reduced capacity matches in order of their tenure, with different members receiving the opportunity to attend each subsequent match. This process will be followed for each game until all members have had the opportunity to attend a match and then repeated.
From what I could see, priority is based on tenure and ticket spend, and they would try to be equitable as long as seating is limited so season ticket holders aren't guaranteed seats for every game. Also apparently the supporters section will be assigned seating due to distancing regulations.
Interesting that they are also allowing folks who get tickets to be able to transfer or resell them. Some could catch a hefty premium. No indication of any requirements to attend other than being symptom-free.
